Re: Biopsies of the scalp and face

I know it's a necessary thing but it's not great just the same!  I am hoping that the results are clear.  Thanks!

It's been 8 days and things are really crusty.  I am a slow healer with everything!  I also use Cetaphil moisturizer.  It feels good and the skin sure needs it!

My skin is not the greatest anyway with the rosacea, so this just adds to it!  I don't have much self-confidence to begin with, so this is not helpful.  I know it has to be done but it's still kind of depressing!!!

Thanks, I appreciate!  I have had many punch biopsies on my body and they took a long time to heal.  But something on the face -- it just stands out and screams --- Hello --- look at me!

With Lupus, I'm so sensitive to the sun and really do try to stay out of the sun . . . but my skin still develops pre-cancerous spots each year. Even with tinted glass in the car and my home, I'm suseptible to sun damage.

By November of each year, I'm ready to have the areas removed and sort of have a standing appointment with the Dermatologist to do so! It's easy, painless and a pro-active approach. My other physicians appreciate that I stay "on top" of this potential cancer issue since I have had breast cancers in the past.

Re: Biopsies of the scalp and face

My mother had a huge spot under her eye cut out for skin cancer (not melanoma), I mean it looked like half a golf ball could fit in it.  But when it healed, it healed.  Can't even tell where it was!  When you get older, you're body doesn't fight healing like it does when you're younger.  Scar tissue isn't a big problem.  It's bad now, but it will go away.Heart

I am sorry you have to keep going through this but you are very wise to be so careful!
