shopping today and fell while picking up something that fell off the shelf. While falling I went back into shelf and must have scraped and cut my upper arm on a hook or something . It could have been worse , but the swelling is painful the cuts are not bad but I am worried about scaring. Any suggesting for faster healing and preventing scaring as I am out in the sun a lot and getting sun on a cut can cause scaring. I am certain tomorrow it will all be black and blue. I know it sure could have been worse I am lucky. It was a freak thing to happen, never fell lime that before , I bit embarrassing as well. I very nice man came up to me and asked if I was alright and helped me up. It's sure refreshing to know there are good people out there.

I like and use Neosporin ointment, and vitamin E oil when cut or scrape starts healing. For me, there has been no scarring after using these products. I hope you're ok!

Are you up to date on your tetanus shot?

I would definitely clean it and put some antibiotic cream on it - scarring - don't know about that. It's awful when you fall in a public place. My foot caught the lip of the sidewalk edge in front of Kohl's several years ago and I went flying, flat on my face - my arms were all scraped up - I was humiliated. I was in a hurry - more slow and careful where I step now.

@hoosieroriginal. It was embarrasing! Nothing like this has happened since I fell on ice when I was in my teens!

Can't use neosporin, I'm allergic to it. Did clean well and put some eucerin ointment. Will try the vitamin E.

I fell several years ago and really cut up my knee -- blood running down my leg!
ER doctor told me NOT to use Neosporin . She suggested that there are better ointments out there and recommended Bacitracin. Did not have any scarring...

If it was me I would apply tea tree oil. That's what I use for all cuts/scrapes. It will take the bite out if it's stinging or it does for me.
