I fell last week and have a few fractured ribs, which have you found to be the best pain relief gel. Arnica, Bio Freeze or Volteran gel
Thanks all

There is a discussion on here from yesterday on Voltaren, can cause lots of side effects, my DH decided to avoid trying it. We like either Bio Freeze or Stopain roll on. Feel better.
I have also had fractured ribs, they will heal on their own, takes about 6 weeks. I took 600 mg Ibuprofen during the day when needed and Tylenol with codeine to help me to sleep, it was hard just to get in and out of bed. Arnica is good for bruising.

That must be painful. I can only comment on Arnica gel, which I have used and like. I know other people have used it and rave about it.

Arnica is generally used to bring out and heal bruises faster. I've never heard of it being used to relieve pain - unless it has something else added to it?
I've used BioFreeze, both the roll-on and gel, because I have RA and it's fine. But I also find Aspercreme gel better at times for things like muscle or back pain.
Has your doctor suggested anything in particular?

OUCH! That is painful and heals on its own. I prefer Bio Freeze or the Aspercreme pain patches. Feel better soon.

I have tired all and as others have stated there are side effects to Volteran.
With Arnicare I use that also with bruises as it seems to help. My mother fell and bruised her arms and her back and the Arnica cream and or gel worked well on these.
The Biofreeze I use the roll on form.
I have also used Salonpas (I will not use the generic store brands as I have a latex allergy).
I have fibromyalgia and have had a DVT and other muscle pain issues and these others seem to help to a degree. I know that some have better results than others.
I hate saying this that it is trial and error and then you have to give some a rest for a bit and then go back to them (that is my feeling on them).
Another item that I have found that helps is Magnesium Oil in a spray. Try to make sure that it is pure magnesium oil.
Hope you are feeling better.

@Venezia Arnica comes in different forms. The gel is a homeopathic pain refief product.

My DH alternates between Volteran ( now over the counter) and bio freeze.

I thought Voltaren was for arthritis pain relief, not for general pain relief.
It is working without side effects for my very arthritic knee.
Maybe a good quality CBD oil? (not topical).

I have an array of topicals that I use for various aches and pains. My go to are sometimes BenGay and good old rubbing alcohol, as well as most of those previously mentioned here.
