Best Insect Repellent? Need recommendations...

I'm not sure if this is the best place to put this question out there, but I am trying to prepare for a trip I am taking soon to visit my parents in the Caribbean. Everytime I visit during the hot/warmer months of the year, I come back with severe bug bites and allergic reactions to boot. I've tried different types of repellents, but they do not seem to work! I have also done research for recommendations online, but some of the products recommended have been 'misses' for me....,

Having said that, I'd like to get some feedback from people who have actually used a good insect repellent that has worked. I have noted that the CDC recommends a product that contains at least 25-30% DEET and from what I have seen, OFF! Deep Woods seems to be a hit with some consumers...anyone concur/differ in opinion(s) or have other product recommendations? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
