Berberine is an active ingredient found in the popular GOLO diet supp. There are several other 'fat burner' supps out there which contain berberine also.

@SilleeMee Has GOLO changed from when they first came out?  For some reason, I had it in my head that their program was Apple Cider Vinegar based.

@Icegoddess

I don't think GOLO has ever used ACV in their supps. Maybe you're thinking of Goli brand of gummies

@SilleeMee That may be it.

@SilleeMee  What brand do you take? I'm thinking of taking it.

Do you take this supplement? I take the one by Andrew Lessman and must admit that I have not noticed anything?

@LTT1

Yes, I take a 500mg cap twice daily, with meals, and sometimes a third cap depending on what I've eaten. Never exceed 1500mg in one day.

AL's berberine contains 250mg and if you are taking only one a day that's hardly enough to do anything for most people.

@SilleeMee  I especially take one or two of AL's Berberine when I eat sugar.  Between Berberine and Jasmine green tea, drink it throughout each day, my A1C was improved, so now I have my husband on it.  He is taking two meds so hopefully taking Berberine is not too much, but his A1C is high because he still eats sugar.

@mousiegirl is your husband diabetic?  I eat a lot of sugar and my A1C is fine, or at least it was my last physical.  My doctor said he didn't see diabetes in my future.  My father was diabetic.  I get my yearly blood draw next week, so we'll see, but last year's was lower than the year before.

Re: Berberine - the "New Ozempic?"

Heard a dr on TV this morning saying there is data now saying those using Ozempic and the other one that starts with a W (can't recall the name) are gaining the weight they have lost and more when they stop taking it....he says much more research needs to be done before anyone takes it only for weight loss. Sounds like if you start taking it to lose weight, you have to keep taking it.
