@JeanLouiseFinch How is it going? Did you start drinking the lemon water? What are the issues you are trying to help, if you don't mind me asking.

@Renata22  I only started Friday.  I’d like to try to stick with it as long as it doesn’t interfere with my keto lifestyle, but I’m not sure it won’t.  Raw lemon juice ok to consume in small quantities, it’s just a matter of fitting it in my daily macros.  Limited carbs makes me careful in how I “spend” them.

I’ve read that consuming lemon water is good for many things.  Here are some of them:

Dissolving/preventing kidney stones

Aids digestion

Flushes out toxins

Builds immunity

Helps build collagen from the inside out

Aids the liver in making bile

Aids skin clarity

Good source of potassium

Balances the pH levels in the body

Good for the eyes

I’ve read that a morning glass of warm lemon water (juice of half a lemon and 8 oz. of warm water) is good for the digestive system as well as other things.  Has anyone done this.  I’m going to try it - started this morning.

@JeanLouiseFinch I have thought about trying lemon water but I'm wondering how the acid would affect my teeth over time. Have you researched that

@akaburtonfan it seems that would be a concern when taken straight, daily over time.  The same goes for ACV.  That’s why it’s recommended to dilute it.  Drinking it through a straw would lessen contact too.

Any fiber supplements wreck me with bloating. Natural amounts in fibrous foods do not bloat me and keep me regular.

Given the price of OTC bottles of fiber products (let alone the additives) and the fact that the dose is about 2 gr of fiber, I can not bring myself to buy.

Really!  2 when the daily is 25 or 30?  Total waste.  Eat real food.

Thanks for your replies.  So how about bloating, do metamucil and psyllium cause it?

@pattyc

Can't remember which one, but one of them gave me terrible gas!    Personally, I find a daily gentle stool softener helps the cause.

@JeanLouiseFinch thanks for the very informative answer. I love lemon water, just have to be careful not to have too much because it hurts my stomach. I go overboard on things I like.

I have just started trying alkaline water. Got some drops to put in water. Always thought it was crazy but then my friend got cancer and the doctor said it would be good for her. Worth a try for my stomach problems.

@Still Raining

My doctor told me to follow a higher fiber diet and to use psyllium fiber too.

I take Konsyl psyllium fiber.  One teaspoon has 5 grams of fiber, 3 of which are soluble fiber.

I am not familiar with any other brand so I do not know how many grams of fiber they have.

I had gotten this brand too since it has no additives.  Add to lots of food.

So much better in both price and purity.
