I know that some people, including here on the boards, take Benadryl for a variety of reasons. My question is this: I can only find Benadryl Allergy (and also a cream & a spray) is this what you take? I thought you used to be able to buy a Benadryl tablet for itching, not an allergy med that doesn't seem to be the right medication for my purpose.

I have an upcoming surgery & the nurse said to take Benadryl to alleviate the itching incisions as they heal, so, I'm a bit confused.

Any input? Thanks! I will be away for awhile, have lots of errands to run (go figure!), but I will check in later to see if anyone has answered by query!
