I purchased a little bag of 'beet root powder' and I would like to know what you  suggest that I mix it with...(new at this).

@sarahpanda  Gosh all kinds of things....protein shakes....fresh juices....yogurt...I even mix some into my morning coffee with a wire whisk!  I like the taste!

Tell me the benefits of beet powder.  I like beets.  I might be the only one save a DIL in my family who does like beets.  I might like having beet powder so I don't buy beets for myself when I am the only one who eats them until my DIL comes to visit, once or twice per year.

You can take capsules as well, if you don't prefer it as a drink. I do both. Beets are good for healthy blood pressure and can help athletic performance, as well as a bunch of other stuff, check google for details. I'm a beet powder addict. My way of drinking it is with water and a scoop of collagen. It dissolves easily.

It's not for people who have low BP and if you take BP meds then you should ask your doctor about it first.

Thanks to you both.  I was wondering about the BP meds.  I take small dose of lisinopril.  So I think I will ask doctor before trying it but just might do that.  I think most, if not all, root vegetables are beneficial.

You are right and that is a very good point. If low BP or on BP meds, ask your doc first. I should have thought of that. You don't wanna get hypotensive. I don't know that beets can do that (are they that potent?), and a doc might not know either but better safe than sorry. My instinct is they're not that strong but who knows. My BP change was not super dramatic. Just from medium risk to normal/healthy range.
