Re: Backing off my Vitamin D

I would be overjoyed with 61.  My goal is 75 as per Dr Andrew Weil.  I have multiple sclerosis and the only thing that seems to make me feel any better is high doses of  Vit 3, which is difficult to get since the sun makes me very ill.

I called Amdrew's CS last week and complained about his Vit K2, it is a combo of K1 and K2, dont need the extra K!, get there elsewhere, and the K2 is not enough. I will be switching to a different brand, Doctor's Best , twice the K2 of Andrews in one cap.

Most K2 is made from fermented soy called Natto, Andrews is made from flowers, which I am happy about, Doctors Best is made from fermented chickpeas, I prefer that to the soy. And yes, you want your K2 to be MK-7.

@Shelbelle Are you switching to the one with MenaQ7 Crystals? I was looking at the one with 100 mcg per capsule with no soy. I will buy after I finish Andrew's. I have been taking 2 of those. I think I probably need to take 3. I read a couple different places recommend taking 180 mcg per day.

The spirulinaIMG_7985.JPGIMG_7987.JPG I take also has K-2 in it naturally .

@esmeraldagooch I have been taking Andrew's Green Complex which has Spirulina in it but not much compared to the 3g in this. Maybe I will switch when I run out. I don't want to take 6 tablets per day. I see they have a spearmint tablet you can take one 3 times per day instead of 6 to get the 3g. I could get by taking 2 per day.

Re: Backing off my Vitamin D

I had to order a bottle of his D3 2000 IU to take. He added 2000 IU D3 to his last CoQ10 TS plus added 2000 IU to his last Essential 1 multi vitamin TS so I cannot take his 4000 IU D3 I was taking. I wanted to leave my dosage at 6000 IU. DH can take the 4000 with the CoQ10 & he will also be taking 6000 IU. Have to keep track of the changes. The next TS CoQ10 & Essential 1 probably won't have the additional D3 in it.

My Rheumatologist put me on a prescription of 50,000 units once a week, my blood work showed my level was at 6, very low.

Oh my goodness, @Sueliz, that is scary low. Imagine if you hadn't had your level checked and how many people don't know they're too low. I hope when you get your levels up to where they should be that you really feel a difference.

@Teddie, thanks so much. I've read where 10% of Americans are deficient in D. Heart

@Sueliz I don't know what the percentage is but it wouldn't surprise me if it was higher. Most people aren't being tested and then when they do, if the doctor or whoever the health giver is doesn't know the new information on this, they will tell the patient they are normal, like was told my husband. Go by that chart above. Don't accept low numbers.

I'm really gratified to see you are being taken care of. : )
