@phoenixbrd - Hi! - She also does some great podcasts if you're looking for additional information in the audio form to have on in the background. One I just listened to this week is by "Plant Yourself."
@sidsmom - I forgot to mention how nice this is of you to do with your friend. Hopefully the protocol will help her - I think it will. And, I'm glad you mentioned it to all of us, too!
Quick question for clarification: is the goal 1lb of greens or 1.5 lbs greens? I wasn't sure if what you had written in the other thread was 1 lb of greens and 1.5 lbs of additional vegetables or not. (Thanks!)

Thomas Tadlock (her husband) also has a podcast but his angle
of this diet is to get super ‘buff’ and ‘shredded’ by raising
the metabolism. And don’t know about you, but my metabolism
can always be raised! Ha.
@phoenixbrd I know you mentioned green smoothies a while back
and it hung in my head. Even though it goes against McDougall
protocol, I began doing a Green Smoothie Renaissance (!) by
re-reading all my Victoria Boutenko books & watching videos by
Green Smoothie Girl (Robyn Openshaw) on YouTube. And my friend
wanted to do this...maybe a Law of Attraction thing?
Perfect timing.
@Julie_23....I love their energy! And I’m so happy you originally
started this thread! 💚

@Julie_23 Thanks for the information and I wish I had known about the September class. I am going to be on the internet tonight to find out as much as I can. Are you following her protocol?
@sidsmom I am especially interested to read Tadlock on metabolism, looking forward to the books on Monday. I did a R. Openshaw green smoothie fast online years ago. I loved the supportive camaraderie of our online group. I always enjoy participating in that kind of supportive energy. I think that is why I so frequently join small private groups and workshops. Tanny Raw is another green smoothie/raw foods champ and I learned a lot from her in the small group workshop. I'm going to incorporate this throughout the month of March by the book and reassess at the end of the month. I'm down for this!

It’s not an exact...just like the O3s are not an exact.
The more the merrier.
It kinda/sorta works out to about a 1lb of greens in 64oz of smoothie(s).
For one blender container, it’s 75% greens & 25% fruit & O3s.
And they want you to pack in the greens. If you have a smaller blender,
use that same 75/25 formula with an end of day goal of 64oz.
And don’t forget the 96oz of water (which can be used for
your smoothie(s).
The goals are really pretty fluid. Just depends on where you are
and how much healing you need to do....if you need to, at all.
Thomas said even if you eat a SAD diet, incorporate a green smoothie
with lots of O3 into your diet...you’ll still see change. I learned that
from Victoria Boutenko...just a quart of green smoothie can really make
a difference...but she didn’t use O3s. That’s the part which kinda
freaks me out a little bit, but...I’m willing to experiment for a month/so.
Here’s a good video:

Hi @phoenixbrd - I had been toying with the idea of trying her protocol for awhile. But, just this week, I did try it for a day just to see. I'm picky on smoothie textures, and I wanted to see how it'd do with all that flax/chia in it. But, I have yet to do 2 consecutive days in a row. So, when I saw @sidsmom mentioning she was helping out her friend by doing it with her.... I thought I'd give it a go with them. So, I am going to try it and see.
Hi @sidsmom - thanks for the added details on the exact amounts. And, I loved your wording, "The more, the merrier" in relation to the greens!

Hey, Leafy Shredders!
I’m quickly realizing I don’t like to add my O3s to my drinks.
It’s just too thick!
Today I mixed up my greens & romaine w/ an apple, 1/2 banana &
some lemon juice with tons of water. Not much fruit...almost like
‘green water’. It’s very refreshing! I plan to blend up my ‘25%’ fruit
like ice cream and eat it with my ground flax....almost like a cereal...
as a snack this afternoon (like a smoothie bowl).
How much O3 are y’all using?
I’m shooting for 1/2 cup today.
Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hi, @sidsmom and @phoenixbrd !
I totally know what you mean @sidsmom about the flax or chia in smoothies! The option you came up with sounds really good, though. I used to put chia seeds on top of my thick smoothie and have them be the "sprinkles" -- loved it. However, after seeing Dr. Greger's video on chia seeds and their needing to be blended to best absorb the omega 3's, I stopped doing that.
For the total omega 3's, I'm going to do the 1/4 cup. I calculated that out to be approx 4 tablespoons of flax or chia. So I'll do 2 tablespoon of flax and 2 tablespoon of chia. I may add additional chia....so it would be possibly 2 tbsp flax + 2-3 tbsp of chia.
On the water, since there is so much water already in what we're eating, I'm debating on doing 2-3 liters instead of the 3 liters.
