Am now on 3 or 4 different interventions, and not having all that much improvement. If none occurs, doctor has prescribed another one to start in a month.
Haven't had it quite this out of control before. I love Arizona, but not quite prepared to move at this stage!
Just sign me, frustrated but still breathing!

I live in upstate New York. Winter has finally set in. That means the heat is on indoors, the very dry heat that even our humidifier cannot fix. It makes me hoarse, with a crummy post nasal drip and some asthma. When I was in NJ last week and it was warm, I wasn’t as bad. This happens to me very year, so I’m prepared for it but it’s no fun.

I am very sorry to hear about your breathing issues! This weather which is now setting in is brutal for asthma, COPD, etc. DH is feeling much worse right now and it worries me to death. I also have a lot of issues and my breathing is worse and I am getting problems with my sinuses, etc. I understand completely how you feel. I hate cold weather and having the heat on, as well! We cannot move to Arizona so I guess we have to put up with it. I wish you all the best!!!

Thank you @Vivian and @AngelPuppy1. It always helps to hear from others coping similarly. Sorry to hear about the breathing issues in your lives too. Here's hoping we all get relief.

@Oznell@AngelPuppy1@Vivian I feel for all of you! Yes, I also have asthma and sinus (I do use Nasonex and Advair all the time for it).
I too dread the winter because of the dry heat (I'm also a freeze baby). I've been struggling with my sinuses and shortness of breath like all of you (I live in NE Ohio). I also have chronic dry mouth which makes it impossible for me to talk unless I have water or gum. Once it snows, my outdoor jogging will help because the outside air will be damp (it's even dry outside right now).

I can relate to your frustration and discomfort. I have year round allergy induced asthma and breathing problems. I am allergic to everything in some form (some critical) except latex and animals (with the exception of mink). Winter is the only time I can breathe and thrive. (Ignoring that winter really bothers my reconstructed leg and bad knees) The doctor recommends Alaska or the West. Our jobs ard kids are here on the East Coast. The other problem is that I need to be close to medical facilites, etc. with some other health issues.
The weather seems to have been off cycle for the last three years. The seasons are either non existent or off cycle. Thiis is problematic for breathing issues as well as the outside chores, etc. I have almost as much "wildlife" in my yards as they do out West. It's like you never catch a break to be able to do what you need/want to do. I know they are many worse conditions so I view it as an annoyance or inconvenience but it gets to you on some days.
I hope you get some relief soon. It looks like I have some cooler weather coming my way so I have my fingers and paws crossed. The dogs and I thrive in 32 and below.
Feel better.

It's so hard not to feel good, when you want to so badly
Feel better everyone
My sister has asthma ,and I really don't know if there is an ideal place to live ,where it won't bother you, unless it might be the Swiss Alps.

You are all such a neat bunch of people. Thanks for your stories and good wishes, everyone.
@cherry, I could really go for some Swiss Alps right about now, I love Switzerland!

The only problem I have during the cold months (my favorite!) is that some people still burn wood. I can't barely go outside for a hot second before the smoke I'm breathing puts me into an asthma attack.
I hate that because I love winter so much and that would be the time of year I'd enjoy being outside, yet I can't for all the wood-burning.

I was recently in the hospital for five days with serious asthma complications.
I used to take QVar, now I take Advair and it's made a HUGE difference. I also have a nebulizer machine of my own, provided by the hospital for use whenever I sense a problem.
What do you use?
