Arthritis

I am new to arthritis and have a couple questions. (I was in shock alittle at the Dr appt)

I didnt talk much to my ortho dr (at the time of my appt)...I thought he might share some info with me, but not really. Anyways...I have it in my index finger (left hand) and wonder...it always stays swollen and sore. Feels kinda like a broken finger at times. Sometimes I can only bend it half way. Are these normal feelings? Thank you
