I agree Voltaren is helpful, but it may depend on the severity of the pain.

I had the beginnings of arthritis in 2 fingers on my left hand. They would clench so bad only when I slept. I happened to buy some finger splints to wear only when I sleep. started this about a year ago and my fingers don't seem to want to curl anymore and I don't have any more pain. HTH.

Be very careful with Voltaren, it comes with a boat load of side effects and must be used very strictly by its instructions.  For this reason, I choose not to use it.

Voltaren is toxic to cats.  Never let them lick your skin if you've applied it!

Voltaren (diclofenac) is toxic to both cats AND dogs.  It's a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) and can cause serious health problems in pets, even in small amounts.

Lately I've been having problems with my hands.  I use the tape below and it's pretty good.  Sometimes I cut it in half when I need the tape more narrow.  I have had cortisone shots in my fingers and wow it really hurts.  I've gotten cortisone shots in my knees for several years and it hurts more to get it in the finger.  Knee Implants stopped getting the shots.

@kismet

What exactly are you doing with the tape to help the Arthritis in your hands?

My 75 year old DS has one finger that has very painful arthritis in it, it's a bit curved now. If you happen to have a similar situation, what is your go to for pain relief? TIA

@sarahpanda  I have arthritis in both hands.  Two fingers have had surgery for synovial cysts, which are caused by arthritis.  What works for me is Aspercreme, rubbed all over my fingers and hands just like hand cream.  I use the original Aspercreme, can't stand the newer one with Capsaicin.

Volteran or Aspercreme with Lidocaine work great for pain.

 I have used the Voltaren on only two fingers that really bother me in the morning when i get up; it really seems to help but I use it sparingly.  My hand surgeon recommended it; I much prefer using cream rather than more pills.
