Hello all - so I have my appointment with the hand surgeon today about what I thought were ganglion cysts, it turns out they are arthritic nodules and he was well not much can be done about then, take anti inflammatory meds and deal with the bony knuckles.
Needless to say I am not happy, I think my next appointment with be with an arthritis specialist.
PS I am only 61 what will happen in the years to come

I have a problem with those nodules too. Several years ago, I got my first one and didn't know what it was. I picked at it and ended up with a MRSA infection in it. I had to go to the ER at the hospital every day for a week and get IV antibiotics which did eventually cure the infection. I was scared I'd lose a finger.

I've got one arthritic nodule on my middle finger. I'm 59 years old and have had the nodule for years. I'm sorry yours are bothering you so much.

I have OA and have these on my knuckles as well. They flare up occasionally and get red and hot and painful. Most of the time they are just uglyand not painful. Nothing you can do other than what you do for inflamation in general. Just part of the OA disease.

I now have them on all my fingers except the thumbs thanks to my father's side. I am 63 now but the first one appeared when I was 54 and periodically another would surface. At first they were usually painful to the touch (the doctor said about 85% are not painful so of course I would be in the 15%). I started noni juice and dark cherry juice and no pain at all anymore. I don't care about the nodules anymore and don't even notice them now.

What do they look like? I,m 80 and just noticed what looks like a blister o the side of my middle finger. It,s white and doesn,t hurt.

@qvcaddition My nodule is just a little knot on the side of my finger where the joint is. It isn't white. It's just skin colored, and it sticks out a little bit. I don't think I'm explaining this very well but just wanted you to know it wasn't white.

Mine are little red knots on top of my first finger joint. They aren't very sensitive.

Yes, a blister-like area or what looks like a small wart, with enlarged knuckle. Mine is also on middle finger, left hand.

Maybe nothing more. Mine have remained same for years.
