Re: Anyone using Olive Leaf Extract Supplements?

@1Professor @I just noticed Lessman's is significantly more potent in terms of the standardized ingredients per capsule (51 v 6 mg). I don't know about studies talking about what levels we should consume, but it's just interesting to note. More isn't necessarily better but it could account for difference in price.

Lessman says 51 mg but the other only says 6%?

Unknown.

Lessman is a small dose than the other.

@1Professor @I misread the 6 as 6mg. So I don't know how 51mg of 300mg equates with 6% of 500mg. Maybe you're right. I'm glad you saw the difference.

Standardization confuses me and I don't know if different processes of standardizing yield different standardized results.

Re: Anyone using Olive Leaf Extract Supplements?

I dislike the nebulous terms of immune health or cardiovascular health.  I think we could take all sorts of supplements fitting that description and it probably wouldn't make a difference worth a hill of beans.  I'm not trying to be negative about supplements; I do take several, but what I take is geared torward specific issues.  I have also been disappointed by supplements touted for specific issues, but at least I know after a bit of time whether they're working or not.  How would you know if this supplement is doing anything beneficial or not?

For example:

I tried CoQ10 for gum health and I swear it got me out of the Periodontist's chair.  It was mostly touted for cardiovascular health at the time, but my DH found an article about it and gum health and I was going to the Periodontist at the time.  Within 3 months I went from talk of another "procedure" to no procedure and going from getting a periodontal cleaning every 3 months to every 6 months.  I still take it not only for that, but now I'm on a statin and my Dr. recommends it.

I tried Bergamot for cholesterol with no result.  I'm now on a statin.

I tried silica for Osteopenia and my next bone scan came back good.
