DH takes this for neuropathy. Although it works better than others, it still is not taking away most of the pain. He did gain almost 20 lbs taking the Lyrica.

I have a form of neuropathy from knee surgery. The nerves in the foot are dead for now and is painful, but is getting better. The doctor will not give Lyrica due to too many side affects. So I will just deal with it.

I've read that Vitamin B12, B6 & Vitamin E can help repair nerve damage. If you haven't already tried supplementing with these three vitamins, it might be worth a try. Smiley Happy

Re: Anyone take Lyrica for arthritis?

Usually NSAIDs are prescribed for arthritis due to their anti-inflammatory properties. I've been taking a lesser-known, non-advertised NASID called Lodine (Etdolac is the generic) for about 20 years with excellent results and no side-effects. I tried others and either got undesirable side-effects or no effect on my pain and stiffness. In it's generic form, Lodine is also relatively inexpensive.

My mom takes it for fibromyalgia. When they upped the does from 50mg to 100mg she started having side effects of blurry vision, tremors, forgetfulness, bloating, & swelling. She is now trying the 75 mg. So I would watch the dosage and how it makes you feel.

Re: Anyone take Lyrica for arthritis?

DH takes it when his post herpatic nerve pain acts up. He had shingles that affected his right upper extremity from his neck down to his finger tips. He has lost the feeling in his fingers and constantly drops things.

His weight has not changed 1oz. It does help him to sleep if he takes it at night.

Re: Anyone take Lyrica for arthritis?

dr. gave my hubbie a 2 wk sampler of this, for his diabetic nerve pain, in his feet and legs. it helped within 48hrs. the ins. co. won't ok, until he tries a list of other rx's first. i'm very afraid of the side effects, for him.
