I have a thyroid nodule and my blood work showed all normal thyroid levels.
Having an ultrasound in two weeks.
Has anyone ever had this?
Thanks!

I've had thyroid nodules for over 40 years. I've had all kinds of tests including radioactive uptakes and needle biopsies. My blood work is monitored and I have regular thyroid ultrasounds -- most recent in June. I don't take any medications for it.

I have been taking thyroid medication since the 1980's but have never had the nodules. However, I do know several people who had nodules removed and they are fine. Three of them were young women.

@ellaphant I have been on synthroid since 2000 as I have a multi-nodular goiter. I go every 6 months for a thyroid panel and also have Hashimotos thyroid. Good luck!

My husband has been living with only the left half of his thyroid for the last four years. It also has a small nodule. He has routine ultrasounds and his TSH levels followed. Everything has been normal, and he's not on medication.
He previously had the right side of his thyroid removed. There was a nodule that was large enough for concern. He had two needle biopsies, and both were indeterminate. The only option was surgery and biopsy to learn that the nodule was benign.

@ellaphant I have a couple, I got for an ultrasound every couple of years. THey are small so I'm not on any medication or need any surgery. My dr. keeps an eye on them and if they get larger we will address it then. The ultrasound is painless and quick.
Good luck!!
