Re: Anyone have a sleep study done?

@KingstonMom  I forgot to mention that when my rls really acts up for me it is usually that my ferritin levels are really low so they do iron infusions which really help.

Re: Anyone have a sleep study done?

I've had a cpap machine since the 90s.  My first machine was huge, loud and the mask hard as a rock I had a very hard time using it.  It wasn't until about 15 or so years ago the masks got much softer and easier on the face that I've been using it 100% now.  I've gotten so heavy due to other medical issues that I'm afraid not to use it now.  A friends son died in his early 30's due to lack of oxygen.  He refused to use his machine.

Haven't had a sleep study done in over 10 years but had several, I stopped breathing over a minute several times an hour plus many shorter ones.

Now they do them in the home, don't know how that would work with the zillion and one things you have to hook up.  I would think though that with the latest technology it may not be so many.

good luck!

Re: Anyone have a sleep study done?

I went in to have a sleep study but wouldn’t you know, I could not fall to sleep! The attendant waited too long to give me a sleep aid so I went home after laying awake all night!

Re: Anyone have a sleep study done?

@whatsmyname  That would not b good at all, sorry to hear that.  My experience with the first sleep study was about 5 1/2 hours so nothing like you went through.  I'm certainly not an expert but for me w/the sleep apnea from heck is that anything they can see w/your sleep study is I think a positive.  I'm a hate of the darn cpap but it does it thing and makes me sleep a better night sleep.
