I have signed up with Noom. Had considered the injections but decided to do this without medication. Could stand to lose at least twenty pounds. But to stay motivated I tell myself just start with five. I'm a snack food-junk food-fast food addict. Once I let myself get into the cycle of over indulging on these, all self discipline disappears. Hopefully I can regain some control over my eating.

Two years ago I went on intermittent fasting. It's really quite easy. I also did portion control. I don't deny myself anything. Learn how to cut your portions in half. I lost 48 lbs. I followed Dr Don Colbert who is a faith based Dr who does integrated medicine along with traditional. His pod casts are on you tube.

In the past I joined WW and a couple of other weight loss plans. I leaned everything in moderation and exercise. It isn't easy of course but it works for me I don't have the appetite I used to have and in fact cannot eat as much as I used to. I think as we get older that happens. It does take will power and if I have a bad day, I go back on track the next. It isn't easy but if you eat well and lose weight, you somehow find the will power to continue. The hardest part of dieting is maintaining weight loss, that I do know for sure.

I've been following a keto lifestyle and intermittent fasting for 5.5 yrs. I lost 150 lbs. in the first 2.5 yrs. My initial reason for starting was weight loss. I found a food tracking app called Carb Manager. When used appropriately, it's a great tool. Then the more I learned about various ingredients and their impact, DH and I agreed this way of eating would be a permanent thing. And we love it and are not suffering in any way. There are a lot of health benefits to fasting so it's something I'll always do.. My intermittent fasting plan started as a 16:8, then 18:6, 20:4, 22:2, OMAD, or OMAD and a small snack (eaten within an hour's time). Last week I did my first prolonged fast (45 hrs.) and felt terrific. I started one again today and won't break it until Tuesday afternoon.

Wow! That's impressive.

I'm aiming for the next two weeks to be on The Complete Scarsdale Medical Diet. My patience isn't as great as it once was, and I want it off fast and then I want to do better. This is for me, I have the time off and on to do this.

I'm constantly watching my weight. I'll never be fat again. I lost 70 lbs 5 years ago and don't plan on ever going back. I lost weight the old fashioned way. Didn't cost a penny. I am the type of person that needs to exercise to lose weight. Just watching what I eat? Not so much. I lost my weight by eating no carb (works for me) and walking. Now that its a duzy of a winter, I have resorted to using my elliptical. I'm so missing my outside walking. Love walking!

I haven't started yet but I'm still mulling over different things. I initially filled out a questionnaire on Noom but didn't follow through. I didn't get much info before they were wanting $$$. What exactly does this plan entail and what do they give you for what you pay?? I had thought I was going to try and go to a nutrionist but I don't know if I want to do that either. A million years ago (it feels like it now) I went to Jenny Craig but there are no physical places any more and you just have to buy the food on line. I did well with the in person counseling and weekly check-ins. That kept me motivated. I don't feel I would no well with on-line plans. I really want to lose some weight but I can't seem to get my motivation for some reason. I was so disciplined for so long and now that I have lost thatt, I can't seem to get it back. I am not making excuses, but several things happened in my life and I am having a hard time adjusting.
I hope you have success in whatever you decide to do. It is hard no matter what anybody says. I am happy for people who have found what has worked for them and they are where they want to be.

I undersand. Years ago I did WW and successfully lost the weight I wanted to lose. Now at the age of 75 I "dream" about losing 20-25 pounds but just am not motivated to. I keep thinking as I get older and eat less I'll just start losing weight naturally so why bother--LOL!
