Didn't you have a fitting with a wax partial? Even now the dentist should be willing to put larger teeth in that you will be more comfortable and happier with. I have one and just got a new one to replace it and I had a chance to let the dentist know if I was happy with the look of the teeth or not. I only take mine out to soak and clean daily so they are in all the time. Once you get used to the way you have to put them in and take them out it is no big deal.

I am so sorry for what you are going through. I have an upper partial and did not want the anchors on my other teeth. I felt that the pressure could affect my other teeth. I have had this partial for probably 20 years. A friend of mine did get a full set of dentures. They made them from the molds of her own teeth, imperfections and all. They look so natural, as most false teeth tend to be so perfect. If you have your dental impressions, please consider having your partials made to match. Good luck to you.

Ladybug, You paid plenty of money for these teeth.... I am sure. You deserve to be happy with your smile not sad! You go back and tell them that you are not a happy camper. Be strong and do not back down. You paid for an end result that you should be happy with. Do not accept less than excellence. YOU ARE WORTH IT!~

Go back to the Dentist and let him know you are unhappy. Dentures should NEVER hurt! Also, I took a picture of me so the lab person could see and match my natural teeth. It worked! One of my front ones is slightly askew which makes them look more natural. You deserve to be happy with what you purchase. If the Dentist does not fix the problem, you can report him and get him in a lot of trouble. They are regulated like Doctors are.

On 6/10/2014 LadyBug77 said: I didn't have a fitting of the molds prior to getting the real plates. And yesterday the dentist put them in and that was it. They didn't have a mirror so I could see how they look. I saw them once I got into my truck and I as disappointed. The teeth are small and looks strange next to my real teeth which are big. And then I see that the clip on wire is very visable. Plus the bottom plates hurt. They rub on my gums. I'm so upset.
Whoa - how did they measure your mouth if your didn't have a fitting. Call the dentist and go back asap and address the issues asap. You should not be experiencing anything you are saying Good luck

If you aren't happy with your teeth, if you don't like the way they look, if they don't feel right; TAKE them back to the dentist and have them fix them. I do have an upper partial and every time I get a new one (about every 10 years), I have to take them back to my dentist for adjustments. Partials today do not need an adhesive, if they fit correctly. It does take a bit of time to get accustomed to them but they should not slip or move and you should be able to eat everything. I've had several partials over the years, made by different dentists and they always match the color of my partial to the color of my real teeth. They should look like your teeth, just better, because the mold was made from your teeth. At any rate, do not feel shy about going back. I would say that most people who have false teeth, partial or complete, take new ones back back for a little "work". Sometimes the dentist can do it in the office, sometimes they have to send them back to the lab. But it can be done. As for how you put them in, you just need to give it time. It's just a new thing for you.

I have a full upper plate which I wait for my implants to heal, it is annoying but my dentist will adjust it each time my mouth changes

I can't imagine they didn't give you a mirror to make sure you liked the way they looked. I've had mine for over 30 years and this is the 3rd partial replacement I've had and each time they did one with wax teeth to make sure the partial was a good fit and to see if I liked the teeth. The 2nd one I had I wasn't happy with one of the teeth and they replaced the tooth for me. Keep going back until you are completely satisfied.
