Re: Any one use $450 Breo inhaler ?

@MW in Iowa , I also have COPD. I use Anoro Ellipta. I was on Breo, but my PCP changed me to Anoro which I used  to take.I haven't really noticed any difference between the two. I'm not sure how I would be without it. It's still not always easy to breathe (even with the meds), especially if you have done something physical. I'm lucky enough to have good neighbors that mow my lawn and shovel snow, etc.  I used Spiriva for awhile, but I got pretty sick from that. None of these works as well as I would like, but I guess it is what it is. I'm on medicare part D and once I've met my deductable, the cost is a lot more manageble. I just got my first order for 3 mos. and it was $544.00. Not sure what it will be next time, but not anywhere near that much, I hope. What galls me is that they can make a generic for Viagra, but not for an inhaler that makes it easier for people to breathe that have lung issues. That would certainly make the price more managable. I hope this works well for you.

I know , in feel so bad for people that are on a fixed or low income , it is crazy, this isn't a frivolous purchace, it is a necessacity  , breathing isn't i can live with or without option.

Re: Any one use $450 Breo inhaler ?

Hubby tried the Breo inhaler and it didn't do anything for him.  Luckily it was a sample given to him by his pulmonologist.  He's been on Trelogy for awhile now and even with my insurance the cost the pharmacy quoted me was over $500.00!  Needless to say we can't afford that BUT I found a coupon online and it brought my cost down to ZERO!  SMH  The coupon says it's good through the end of this year.  Maybe try looking for an inhaler for your Breo.  Good luck.

Thanks , i am on day 5 , it does help for sure , but isn't a miracle worker yet , i think this type of steroid takes a while to work to it's full effect.

Re: Any one use $450 Breo inhaler ?

I have used it for a couple of years.  I only need to use it in the colder months as that is when my allergies/asthma are worse.   My copay for one month is $25.00 but I pay an exorbitant amount for my insurance already.  It works for me and I have not suffered with any side effects.  I use it once daily in the morning.

@catter70 @MW in Iowa   I was on Advair, was changed to Breo, then Anoro for 2-3 years and now doctor has decided asthma is totally steroid-dependent so he changed me to Trellegy.  I have only been on it for 5 days so cannot make any evaluation.  My O2 saturation was going down on the aforementioned drugs so the reason he decided to change me.  I also use a nebulizer and a rescue inhaler.

If so , what has been your experiences . I got it 2 days ago , and always have to work up the nerve to try anything new in medications and such. It is $450 , which is rediculous , but if saves a life worth it. The reviews and side effects are kind of scary , but so is death. Any users ?

I have been using it since last March, when I was quite ill with something that aggravated my lungs and my Asthma.

It was some type of respiratory ilness, where I had trouble trying to breathe and was short of breath, and went to Urgent Care, and then was told to follow-up with my primary care doctor's office for more help for my Asthma.

I'm thinking that personally that it might have been Covid, as this was before we had testing for it, and before everyone was requited to wear masks, etc.

That being said, it's a dual inhaler that contains both a steroid and a quick-acting bronchodilating medication, at the same time.

It is used for treating Asthma and COPD.

It dispenses in a fine powder, so that when you inhale it into your lungs/mouth, you have to try not to swallow it, and you have to rinse your mouth after your dose.

I haven't had any problems using it.

If cost is a problem, you can go to the manufacturer and see if you qualify for patient assistance in paying for the inhaler. Smiley Happy
