Re: Any Folks Out There With Multliple Sclerosis?

My daughter has MS. She was diagnosed shortly after the birth of her only child. She was complaining that there was a spot in her vision that, though she could see, the vision was very dimmed in that area.

Her eye doctor said she might have MS and it was confirmed by her physician. She has had problems walking and seeing a few times and was on IV therapy when that happened.

She is on medication and has not had an episode for a couple of years. I have noticed a change in personally, a slight depression of sorts. She also gets "snappy" with people when she is upset or unhappy.

I pray that she doesn't get any worse and I am trankful that she was diagnosed very early. Her daughter is now 10 and I am worried for both of them. Her husband is not the type to be of any help should she need it. He is helpless.

Treatment for this disease is much better than it used to be and I continue to pray for a cure soon.

Is MS worse than ALS? My dear friend was mentioning the other day she thinks she may have ALS. She is experiencing muscle flinches in her legs. The doctor has sent her to a neurologist for a thorough work up. My prayers to all those battling these horrific diseases.

I would say ALS (Lou Gerhig's) sp? is likely much worse.

I am healthy but i briefly dated a man with it. he had great difficulty walking and cutting his own food. I stopped seeing him for I felt he was with me for the wrong reasons.

Tissyanne, do we know how these diseases are transmitted? Is it genetic or environmental? I worry about living so close to high voltage electrical lines. I asked my doctor about it but he was not aware of any danger involved. I think it could be a breakdown in our food supply. These diseases seem to be increasing and much more commonplace now compared to the 50s and 60s.

Depression is a large part of this illness due to brain changes.

Just heard to be sure to take Vitamin D to possibly prevent MS. I know mine was diagnosed as low. my blood test came back at 29 and my physician wanted it over 50. I am now up to 49 by taking Andrew Lessmans Vitamin D product.
