I consume protein bars a couple of times a week, most often I rely on Pure Protein bars for a quick meal or replenishment snack.

I am looking forward to watching Andrew's presentation on his Secure meal replacement bars and will most likely try them if the price is right!

Eye Support, just in time for me. I get the 720 caps, and I have about seven left.

Been using Eye Support for about 20 years, and I credit them for having no restrictions on my driver's license. Cataract and multi focal euye plant gives me the privilige of not needing reading glasses.

@febe1 I will be refreshing my supply, as well.

I come from al family of eye docs.

However, it took me two weeks of taking these (way back) to realize (duh) I needed to take TWO, not one.

Hi, Same here! I've been taking two. I tried Andrew's booster and figured two would do just as good. Smiley Happy

Ah, those ingredients.

I am a Lessman fan.

However, I am also a scientist. Who has researched heart disease and heart-healthy diets.

Here's the concerning clicker:

The serving size is 1/2 bar.

Who would DO that? Only because they want to reduce the concerns people would have BECAUSE EVERYONE WOULD EAT A WHOLE BAR.

As wellness folks know, it is SODIUM (+ fat and sugar) we are trying to reduce.

1/2 bar has 150 sodium, meaning 300 for a bar.

Yuck.

In addition, lots of saturated fat, plus sugar (double everything you read, it's for 1/2 bar).

Quite disappointed.

I am not seeing thst much saturated fat.  People seem to forget that fat is need in a healthy diet.  These fats can come from healthy sources such as coconut, seeds, nuts, and chocolate, which seem to be in the ingredients of these bars.  Not seeing much added sugar either.  Would have liked to have seen these packaged as serving sizes though.  Not sure how well "the other half" will keep for another time once the package is open.

Someday, when scientists discover the center of the Universe....some people will be disappointed it is not them.

I agree that the nutritional profile of this bar is a huge miss. The good thing about Andrew Lessman is that he listens to feedback from the reviews. If the sales reflect a low return then he will most likely reformulate. Yes, very few people (including myself) have the discipline to eat 1/2 bar @ 140 calories. A person would be better off to eat a low fat string cheese stick, and an egg, or piece of fruit, or a small serving of almonds as a pre or post work out snack.

I too am a huge ProCaps fan! Many of Andrew's products are top notch (Omega 3's, Ultimate Eye Support, Circulation and Vein, CholesteCare, his oatmeal, oatbran, ChocoNuvo, Efficient C, and many more). The Secure bars I assume will be presented as a meal replacement so I guess 280 calories is reasonable. I, myself, am better off to consume a Pure Protein shake for 160 calories. The price of the new bars is just too high for me (even though I have had trouble buying the PP shakes on sale lately), but I will say, the flavor combinations of the Secure bars are tempting!

@jpie   I take many of the Lessman supplements you mentioned. Researched them all first.

Just saw Andrew's presentation.

He explained.

The bar was actually supposed to be 2 meals!!

Unusual, but he explained.

I should have waited to hear.

@jpie May I inquire which brand you buy from Costco? and is it a combo product containing L+Z & Astaxanthin??

I have been getting his Ultimate Eye w/o Astaxanthin and it works really well for me but I see you are also planning to get this plus the Costco.  Do you take 1 of each brand??

Thank you Woman Very Happy

Wow - I couldn't disagree more. 2 grams of sugar for the entire bar is too much? I would be hard-pressed to think of another meal I could have for lunch that has less than 2 grams of sugar in it. And the fats are from the nuts, so that's not a concern.

On top of that, 300 mgs of sodium in a meal is not worrisome. It's 14% of the daily recommended amount. 14% for one meal is perfectly fine. If my other two meals of the day contained a similiar amount, I'd still only be up to 42% for the entire day.

Again, this is a meal replacement bar - not a snack bar. If this is my meal, then these numbers are not troublesome in the least. You also failed to mention the beneficial 12 grams of fiber. And when backing the fiber out, the entire bar has only 10 carbs. That's awesome.

I also disagree with your later comment that Andrew's main audience has health concerns. Where is the data to back that statement up? I believe the majority of Andrew's audience are health-conscious individuals who take supplements as a preventive measure, in order to stay healthy.

As for me, I'll be happily eating an entire bar for lunch and feeling great about my health-conscious choice.

Re: Andrew Lessman's May TV Schedule

I also noticed the serving size was half a bar and found that odd - will be interested to hear Andrew's explanation on that.  I would rather have a smaller bar that is the proper serving size.  But, as a meal replacement, you could eat the whole bar as well if you are fine with the 300 calories.

I'm not planning on buying this product although I do sometimes use Secure.

There is usually a sale on these two supplements a couple if times throughout the year. $10 off the Astaxzantin to bring it down to $39.99
