@Nightowlz thank you for the April TS info on the Omega 3. I'll have to remember that.
I was interested in Lessman's Cinammon - but he uses cassia cinammon. Not sure I would want to take 2 supplements a day when cassia can cause liver damage. I chatted with someone from Procaps Labs and they asked if I would like to put in a request for Lessman to use ceylon cinammon. I know it's more expensive, but I'd buy it if he used ceylon. Has any of you used cinammon to help lower blood sugar? I sprinkle some on my oatmeal and such, but I doubt if I'm getting enough to make a difference.

Your right about liver damage & cassia cinnamon. I'm sure he has his reasons why he uses that type over the others. I will have to listen to him some time when he talks about it.
I found this info online about how much cinnamon to take to help balance blood sugar. I found this on the livestrong site but I would do more research.
Balances Blood Sugar
Consuming cinnamon may reduce blood sugar, cholesterol and triglyceride levels. The spice's mechanism of action is not known, however, it is thought that components in cinnamon may increase insulin receptor sensitivity, which can increase the body's ability to remove glucose from the bloodstream and store it in the body's tissues, according to magazine "Eating Well." The recommended dose is approximately 1/2 tsp. of powdered cinnamon mixed with water per day.
Cinnamon's active compound, cinnamaldehyde, increases peripheral blood flow, which means the spice may be appropriate for treating poor circulation in hands and feet. Cinnamon may be particularly effective for treating the health disorder chilblains, which are ulcers of the fingers and toes caused by exposure to cold weather, according to Botanical-Online.com. Additionally, cinnamon possesses properties that help to remove obstructions in the blood vessels, such as cholesterol, which improves general blood circulation, according to the Epicentre. A recommended dose of cinnamon for vascular health is an infusion of 1 tsp. of cinnamon added to 16 oz. of water, consumed daily in two divided doses.

@Nightowlz Thank you for that info. I've done research on taking capsules,
but never came across the info about 1/2 tsp. with water.
The lady on Procaps gave me a brief explaination on why Lessman uses
cassia, but it was over my head. I would like to hear him talk about this.
Thanks again for your reply. I'll have to take a look at that livestrong site.

@Nightowlz and @yellowrose I contacted Customer Service at Andrew's place for some information on the cinnamon. This is what I was told.
We apologize for any concern you may have regarding our use of cinnamomum cassia in our Cinnamon-350. Ceylon and cassia are two of a few different tree species from which cinnamon bark is obtained. Andrew’s research has found that cinnamomum cassia is the preferred species for creating our Cinnamon-350. He is able to provide a better standardization of the beneficial constituents found in cinnamon using cinnamomum cassia. In other words, there is a better concentration of Flavones and Type A Polymers present in cinnamomum cassia. These are the key protective compounds found in cinnamon.
Cinnamon can contain varying levels of the naturally occurring compound coumarin. Coumarin is also naturally found in other edible plants such as clover, chamomile, carrots, peppermint and dill. We are aware of the concerns regarding coumarin and so are the manufacturers that supply us the raw materials that we use in our Cinnamon-350 product. Therefore, we can assure you our cinnamon is safe, because it is purified in such a way as to significantly reduce or completely eliminate the amount of coumarin in the cinnamon.
I hope this information helps ease your concerns. For more information please email, chat, or contact our Customer Care Center at 800.800.1200 at your earliest convenience to speak with our knowledgeable Vitamin Specialists. Our hours of operation are 6am to 6pm PT seven days a week. Chat and Web Customer Service are unavailable on weekends.

@santorini wrote:Thanks for posting this. I'm almost out of the Essential One so this is great timing. I love Lessman's products and yes, there IS a difference between his products and the drug store products. As long as he keeps making his items, that's the only brand I will consider taking.
Agree 100%. I've been taking his vitamins close to 30 years. I've even given them as gifts to people, who wind up purchasing. I've said this numerous times on this site, when people in my office are sick for the 3rd and 4th time in a year, I just keep taking Andrew's vits. I don't want to jinx myself, so I'll knock wood when I say this, I've worked for my company for almost 20 years, and have been out sick once. I truly believe it's genes, attitude, luck and AL's vitamins.

Thanks for sharing the info you found out.
I was reading about it online yesterday.
He uses Cassia vs Ceylon because that's what research says works for balancing blood sugar.
I figured Andrew purified it some how. Hope he tests it regularly.
The only other cinnamon product I've heard of people using is CinnaBetic.

On the topic of cinammon Andrew claims that just sprinklinh Cinammon is not as therapeutic because his capsules are standardized. I'm not sold on that so I continue to just sprinkle Cinammon on oatmeal etc.
@Reever That is my understanding too, that just sprinkling regular store-bought cinnamon is not as therapeutic. I love to put cinnamon on my oatmeal each morning. I did find it interesting that he opens the capsule at home to put on his food. That tells me it must not be bitter, so I might try that someday. For now, I have not purchased it.

When Andrew does the tour of the facility, he always points out that all raw materials that come in are tested in a separate room before they ever get anywhere near a machine.
