I did not know Andrew was one of my people! He's from Long Island.

@VaBelle35 wrote:Whole30 was developed to help people identify food allergies on their own. It's an elimination diet. You eliminate everything that can possibly be a trigger. It's not low carb or a weight loss program, but people end up eating "lower carb" than their regular diet because of the limited items you can eat and end up losing weight because they are eating less. For me, I lost 4 lbs on my Whole30, but I was close to my goal weight and doing it for allergies, not weight loss.
Keto is for people with certain health issues and risk factors. It is low carb, between 20g - 50g a day. 50g is the ceiling. You have a hard stop at 50g. YOu cannot do 60g one day and 40g the next day and is evens out. Leafy greens you can use net carbs if you want, but all other carbs are total carbs.
People who don't have health issues or risk factors are doing Keto for the energy. The people who lift and do crossfit and are beasts do Keto to up their training.
To lose weight on Keto Reset, you adjust your fat grams down to create the calorie deficit.
For me, I just wanted to see what it did for me. So far, so good. I haven't eaten yet today, I am just starting to eat right now ( at 16 hours of fasting).
I'm still buzzing today! I was telling our health coach at work how I was feeling this weekend. He ate a box of donuts yesterday. LOL
@VaBelle35 Yes, the Whole 30 is an elimination diet that can help reveal allergens, but it also helps end cravings, reset your metabolism, heal the digestive tract and much more. I lost 20 lbs over about a year or a year-and-a-half from the Whole 30. I did a Whole 30, then stuck to that way of eating more often than not, but then I fell off the wagon. Really, I lost too much weight and wanted to gain back 10 lbs. But now I'm fully off the wagon and need to eat cleaner. I know that my head was clearer, I slept better, I woke up refreshed, and I had more energy. Those were the reasons I did the Whole 30 in the first place, not for weight loss.
Reading how excited Mark Sisson is about keto makes me more interested in it. He said that he even feels better than when he was eating paleo, which is saying a lot. When my mom was diagnosed with lung cancer last year after being a lifetime non-smoker, my nutritionist recommended a cookbook with ketogenic recipes by two cancer survivors. It's really interesting what new research is showing.
That's great that you're feeling so much energy from the Keto Reset when you were already eating clean before starting! I need to fully embrace the meal prep because I'm having a hard time juggling work, kid, grad school and my health. ![]()

@pinkmochi I'm lucky that I love to cook and have the time to do it and that there are a lot of healthy options in my area if I eat out.

I have digestive issues when I eat certain foods particulary meat as well as diverticulitis so I am pretty careful about what and how much I eat of anything that will agravate it; I already take plenty of AL vitamins for more years than I can count and I would not be without them no way no how. I just added over the past couple of months his Complete digestion kit (Aloe Vera, Digest Assure, Friendly Flora) I did the try me size first and the results had me order the large size I don't need it everyday but I take it when I do because it works.
This visit I restocked the COQ10 TSV, Women's Wellness and I ran out of my Circulation Vein Support after taking this for years and didn't think I needed to reorder boy was I wrong I have a desk job so I sit alot and noticed by the end of the day my ankles felt swollen - not a good feeling. I ordered the largest size immediately! I do need a shelf or something to display my AL vitamins LOL.

May I suggest an Origami?

Andrew Lessman has some kind of disorder where he requires everything t be in perfect order. Years ago they showed the inside of his refrigerator and everything was in perfect place lined up. All his teas were labeled. Living with a man like that would drive me crazy. I get the idea his home must be spotless.

@CLEM beat me, but not by a lot (and I'm supposed to be on a budget.) @willdob3 my vitamin/ supplement expense also does not bear examination. But I also think they are worth it.

I haven’t spent that much at one time but I’m positive it would not be in my best interest to add up how much I spend in a year. lol But the supplements are definitely worth it.

Do you use an Origami to organize your supplements? I do! I bought one of his kitchen islands not knowing exactly what I’d use it for but I had a few different ideas. Once I got it set up it just naturally became my supplement station! I got a drawer for it, too.
