It's not absolute, but more often than not she does as she's more "evening" than Shannon or Bobbi Ray. When they did the first live show from Henderson, she did not kick it off, I think it was just Shannon and Bobbi Ray that visit.
I think Colleen and Andrew are the best pairing and the most comfortable together. Shannon doesn't let Andrew bother her, she just rolls along and if he doesn't like something or corrects her, she just keeps rolling along and doesn't give it a passing thought. Bobbi Ray takes every criticism and mistake to heart and you can see she visibly feels bad about upsetting his highness ;o)

I don't see anything on Colleen's FB page, so maybe she didn't host last night.
I haven't watched any of it yet.
I don't have issues with these generally, so I am not jumping in on this one. I like the idea of it but I need to drop something else before I can add more pills to my party LOL
I packed my pills yesterday afternoon. I should have taken a picture. It's worth it to me when I dont' come back from this trip sick.

I've noticed that frequently Colleen hosts his final 9pm-11pm show as well. I agree that they feel most comfortable together and, as a viewer, this is my favorite pairing. Colleen also seems to be the most knowledgable of the hosts. Clearly she's combed through the latest pre-show notes from Andrew before her shows. She's much more likely than the other hosts to bring up some of the latest research on a product. Shannon's just not my cup of Earl Grey Green Tea. ![]()

I'm watching the Tour de France -- go Chris Froome, Teejay Van Garteren, Peter Sagan, and Manx MIssle Mark Cavendish!!! keep Contador off that podium!!! -- right now so I haven't had a chance to watch the midnight Ultimate Friendly Flora (UFF) and Cranberry Benefits (CB) show yet either.
In Andrew's blog he mentioned that he was going to talk more about the connection between the friendly flora gut interaction with the brain, and I'm very curious as to what he'll have to say. I take Doctors Best Tryptophan (probably the only good tryptophan on the market) because of how it helps balance out seratonin in the brain. Seratonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate sleep, mood and appetite (to avoid overeating). I know that 70% of the body's seratonin is in the gut. I think that Andrew mentioned that he would be discussing seratonin as well.
I did have a chance to watch his 11pm show last night. He mentioned that he would be going through a lot of his scientific charts in today's 11am-1pm ET show. I'm a nutrition geek, so I'm really looking forward to that!!
VaBelle, he featured CholastaCare in the 11pm show, so there might be special pricing on that (or not, sometimes the H "special" price is just the Procaps every day price).

I just finished watching last night's 11pm-midnight pre-TS show. Andrew featured his Essential-1 multivitamin in the final segment. At 11:56pm Andrew mentioned that he would not be having an Essential-1 TS until 2016. -- While I'm a bit annoyed that he didn't include an Essential-1 TS for this year, at least now I know to go ahead and stock up on it (my supply was almost finished).
According to Procaps Labs CS, because he didn't have an Essential-1 TS this July, he is offering the product at a featured price this weekend. The large size is $79 versus $89. -- I'm still going to purchase the more expensive Essential-1 with 3,000 IU Vitamin D which is $99 (versus the standard version which has 1,500 IU VItamin D). I haven't done a pricing comparison and the more expensive version might actually be a tiny bit pricier. I'm going with the 3,000 IU Vitamin D version because, according to Andrew the Vitamin D daily "sweetspot" is between 2,000IU and 4,000IU for people in the normal weight range.
If you are overwight or obese, you may need to increase your daily dosage by 150% to 200% percent becasue Vitamin D is fat soluble and it gets sequestered in the omentum (belly fat). -- Ten minutes of summer sunlight (if you're not wearing sunscreen) gives you 10,000 IU of Vitamin D. I take less Vitamin D in the summer and much more in the winter months. If you're north of Atlanta, then the sun's rays are too weak in the winter months to allow your body to create enough Vitamin D.

@bebe777, I am very interested in the Doctors Best Tryptophan for the benefits you indicated. Do you mind my asking where you purchase it? I have followed the posts regarding supplements between you and VaBelle35 with great interest. Both of you are a wealth of information 😀.
BExplorer, good to see you. I hope you are having a wenderful weekend![]()
(edited my post so I notify @BExplorer that I had replied to the question)
I enjoy talking about supplements (especially Andrew's) even more than talking about Wen, so I've really enjoyed this vitamin conversation. I'm glad you've found the information helpful. Thank you for your kind words. *s*
I almost always use iherb for supplement orders. I've used them for years. They started out as a small independent company and have grown through word of mouth and good CS. I just like that in companies I do business with. Their CS staff is helpful and friendly. They also give free S&H with an order of $20 or more. They carry a wide variety of good products. I get the sense that they vet their brands as opposed to selling everthing and the kitchen sink. They also carry some small excellent niche brands which are hard to find. Customers seem to give more detailed reviews which I also appreciate. They have a sliding discount structure which makes them competitive with Vitacost (for my orders iherb is usually cheaper in the end with the discount). I think the discount starts at 5% and goes up to 14%. -- The giant VItacost is my second choice but their free shipping only kicks in after $50.
I think that currently iherb is having a half price sale on Doctors Best Tryptophan. -- Doctors Best seems to balance their high prices by have in 40-60% off list price sales several times a year -- generally every 3-4 months -- through stores (online and brick & mortar).
I'm a huge fan of L-Tryptophan and I've used it for 7-8 years with great results. Doctors Best prices can be significantly higher than their competitors but there products are definately better quality. When I first started taking tryptophan I went with Doctors Best and immediately saw great results. But because it was more expensive I tried around 5 other brands (Now and Jarrow being among them). Within a few days of using these products I stopped seeing ANY results. Honestly, I was really suprised by this but it taught me that there can be a quite a differrence between various brands (note: I think Pur has a tryptophan which I didn't try because it was even pricier). -- This expreience made me very fussy about vitamin brands. I've tried dozens of brands and most I would never use again.
Quick tip: if the company used tablets as opposed to powder filled capsules, just don't use them because they are not respecting their ingredients... so clearly they don't respect their customers. That said their seem to be a few supplements such as SAMe that are just made in tablet form.
Years ago, I called Doctors Best when the company was just getting started and I ended up speaking to the President. Long story, bad CS, I complained and was put through to the company President. -- He couldn't have been nicer and we had a long talk about supplements. Both he and his wife each take 2 tryptopahn capsules daily to help them sleep at night.
I was actually calling the company because after taking 2 capsules a day for a few weeks I was falling asleep at 5pm in the afternoon and I didn't understand why it was happening. I had been taking tryptophan for mood and he explained the connection between sleep and reduced eating cravings that tryptophan can also produce. -- I did some experimenting and found that 5 tryptophan capsules per week was best for me.
Tryptophan is a great but frequently overlooked supplement. I think it works much better than either ATP or melatonin (and you shouldn't take more than 1.5 of melatonin.. people take way too much and it can have negative effects).
I recommend taking tryptophan about an hour before you go to bed. You want to take it with a bit of liquid glucose (e.g. fruit juice) to make sure your body absorbs it properly. Also make sure you have a multi vitamin that had B6 in it because that is a co-factor for absorbtion. You don't need to take a separate B6 with the tryptophan, just make sure it is in your daily multi.
Tryptophan is one of five amino acids that are used by the brain. They all compete to get to the brain by using the exact same pathway. It gets crowded, and so not everything gets through. So your best bet is to take your tryptophan at least 2 hours (or, better, 4 hours) away from protein. Then it has a clear pathway to the brain.
I hope this info helps.

I didn't read this entire thread so I don't know if this has already been answered but I'd like to know if they FF capsules are hard to swallow? I have watched some of the presentations hoping that they will show an actual capsule but they haven't (or I've missed it). Anyway, I am currently using Yakult drink as my probiotic. I like that it's a drink so it's easy but if the FF is better I'll give it a try but swallowing pills are sometimes difficult especially if they're large. TIA
