I don't know how many vitamins I take now but I am definitely in the double digits especially since I started back with the Glucosamine and Chondroitin another four capules.
Question though have any of you ladies every taken his vitamins past the expiration date.

@Luvitorleaveit1, yup, I have been known to do it and they still work... though I can sometimes tell that their potency goes down a bit (COQ10, Essential-1, Circulation & Vein)

@bebe777 - lol I guess I am trying in my own way not to waste money his vitamins are like gold but the vitamins I was referring to are the Immune Factors and Vitamin C, at one point I was guaranteed to get sick in the winter so I brought the Vit C and his Immune Factors then I decided with the coaching of my doctors nurse to get the flu shot-this is my second year and so far I haven't even got the sniffles.
On another note thanks so much for taking the time to always provide so much information on his vitamins it is truly appreciated it and they work well with my WEN.....lol.
Awww @Luvitorleaveit1, thank you for your kind words, both with regard to Andrew's products as well as to Wen. I really appreciate it and I'm grateful for your kind words. *s*
In total, I've probably used about half a dozen products well past their expiration date (1-2 years later). In each case the products worked but generally I could feel that the potency had been reduced... but the pruducts were still helpful. What I did was to either take double the product or, more generally one and a half times the normal dosage and that worked pretty well for me. ![]()
The one time I ditched the product was with a small amount of Ultimare Eye that was close to three years past the EXPIRATION DATE (which was about 2 years after my purchase date (making my usage close to five years after the product was manufactured). -- lol, Ultimate Eye is quite literally a "see the difference" product for me... and this very old product definately had bit the dust. ![]()
My experience with Andrew's general supplements makes me think that your Vitamin C is probably still viable but less potent, so I'd go ahead and use it if it were me. ![]()
In contrast, Andrew's Immune Factors is one of the few products where he uses herbal ingredients... which is far away from my nutritional wheelhouse. -- Some of the key ingerdients are echinacea, goldenseal, astagulus, and a mushroom blend.
In my limited experience with herbal supplements, I've noticed that they tend to lose their potency much more quickly. I also have a very respectful cautionary approach when it comes to herbal supplements. I think that they are more subtle to work with than other nutirtional supplements. -- Based on this, if your Immume Factors is more than 6 months after the expiration date then I think you might want to toss it. -- I'm hoping that @Drythe will weigh in on this, becasue I really respect her knowledge on this topic. ![]()
___
More about "expiration dates"...
The simple truth is that generally speaking there aren't regulatory bodies that set rules up regarding expiration dates... and this applies to a wide variety of products (not just supplements).
For example, with regard to food products, each individual company decides on what their expiration dates will be for each of their products. -- And while milk might go bad 3-5 days after the expiration date... lol, I've kept good quality yogert in my frig up to 2 months after the expiration date (when I haven't opened the yogert yet). You'll know the yogert has done bad when you open it up and there's mold growing on it. Oooops! ![]()
My sense about Andrew's products are that he is more likely to be cautious about his expiration products because he wants to make sure that you are always getting full potency... which is why his products seem to have worked for me after their expiration dates.
I hope this info helps. ![]()

@CoastalGal wrote:So it looks like no Glucosamine todays special this year. Has anyone found one that is not as pricey but as effective?
@CoastalGal and @Shaunac, Andrew hasn't done a glucosamine/chondroitin TS in maybe three years. Before that he sort of had one regularly.
That said, the TS value wasn't that great a value unless you purchased it with a second TS that Andrew frequently offered that day and bought the large size of each as a bundle. -- usually it was $160 for both of them.
-- bebe
I paid $79.90 for 480 last January. I can't tell from my order if it was a TS or just a special.
@CoastalGal, it sounds as though that was probably a TS price because that's about as good a value as Andrew offers on glucosamine/chondroitin (about 20% off of the largest size).
The $160 bundles I was referring to was when the largest size of glucosamine/chondroitin (600 caps when it was a 5 cap serving, and 480 caps when it became a 4 cap serving), was bundled with Circulation & Vein Support (probably 720 caps, 2 caps per serving).

I did get the C&VS and the Friendly Floria/Digestive package.
Have anyone tried the Phosphatidyl Serine and had noticeable results? If so, what were/are you taking it for and what benefits did you notice? Do you take the 100 or 200 version?
@bebe777 - I've been weeding through old posts/threads - you take PS200? It sounds like you've had good results with it.
Hi @willdob3, I've been taking 200mg of PS daily for a number of years with good results. Andrew's PS was much more expensive than other PS until a few years ago and so I had used the Doctors Best brand (a very good brand) until then.
When Andrew lowered the PS prices I switched over and I've gotten even better results. Yay Andew!!! ![]()
PS is one of the most subtle supplements that I take and it's kind of hard to describe how PS works.
PS seems to be able to helps keep cortisol levels in check when I'm under stress. My stress is still there but it's manageable and I can work through my stress effectively. lol, without PS, I'm a mess sometimes. Really.
So for me, PS makes a subtle but very effective difference.
@willdob3, I'd recommend the PS 200. That's what's the general recommendations are and that's what I've taken for years. -- Some folks take 300mg of PS daily... so you just have to figure out what your body chemistry needs. -- If I remember correctly, when I first started taking PS, I think I took a daily loading dose of 300mg daily for the first month and then went down to 200mg daily.
I hope my info helps. ![]()

Awwww, @Drythe my friend, I miss you so much too. You and your family (including your four legged and feathered members) are always in my thoughts and prayers. *s*
The good news is that, while it's been a very challenging year -- fingers crossed -- I think I'm starting to see light. Everything is finally starting to stabilize and I'm very optomistic about being back in in the next month. Really
Yay!!! ![]()

@untitled, thanks for the heads up on this because I missed the first hour of Andrew's show. This is happy news for a lot of folks.
Later in the show Andrew confirmed that he will be back in April. -- He usually has two TS weekends. One TS is the Ultimate Omega-3 while the other TS is his Ultimate Eye.
He also mentioned that he might have a show in March.
lol, @VaBelle35 he also mentioned that he hopes to more online shows this year... hopefully like his "at home" shows a few years ago. -- VaBelle35 I'm still hopful... or maybe hoping... but am afso lookiing for flying pigs. ![]()

I've been looking at things for brain health too, willdob3. It's too confusing.
Hi @Teddie,
Here's what I take that I feel is useful for brain health:
* Andrew Lessman's Elite multivitamin, but his Essential-1 multivitamin is a great place to start -- From my perspective, I make sure to get my essential core nutrients to start with.
* Omega-3 (DHA and EPA) -- DHA is what's most important for brain health. DHA is the fatty acid found in greatest concentration in the brain. -- I get 1,000mg (1gm) of Omega-3 with Andrew's Elite multi. I supplement that with about 1.5 servings of Nordic Naturals liquid Omega-3 which provides an additional 2gms of Omega-3. -- Nordic Naturals is the only other brand (besides Andrew's brand) that uses the natural triglyceride form of Omega-3, versus the cheaper to manufacture ethyl esters form. -- Andrew has mentioned that the trigliceride form is 2-3 time more effective than the ethyl esters form. -- Andrew feels that 1gm of Omega-3 daily is the way to go (as do most major sources). For me, personally, 3gms daily is the way for me to go. ------ Omega-3 helps to balance my brain mood. I saw results in about 30 days.
* Phosphatidyl Choline (in the lechithin granular form) -- PC naturally comes in a granular form and it's expensive to change it over to the gelcap form. -- Andrew suggests that folks take one scoop daily (about 1gm, 1,000mg, daily). One of the Procaps reps told me that Andrew actually takes 3 servings daily, so that's what I take. -- It's not magic, but it does help me with brain clarity. ---- PC is the primary phospholipid found in the brain.
* Curcumin (found in Tumeric) -- I was surprised to find that after taking it for 3 days that it reduced my brain fog. -- Epidemialogical studies (studies of large ethnic populations) have found that people in India have the lowest Altzheimers levels in the world. They also use the most Tumeric in their daily food sauces by a long shot. The feeling is that this is a protective component against Altzheimers. -- Andrew's Turmeric is COMPLEXED with phosphatidyl choline. These two ingredients are blended together for an extended period of time which makes the tumeric up to 29 TIMES more effective. -- Note: tumeric is not bioavailable on it's own and your body can't absorb it. It's not even enough to take tumeric with phosphatidyl cholline, it has to be blended with PC for a long time for it to become effective.
* Memory & Brain Support capsules (from Procaps Labs) -- This is chock full of great ingredients including Acetyl-L-Carnitine and one that I think very highly of, Vinpocetine. lol, I still haven't gotten around to taking this supplement but, based on it's ingredient profile, it's definately worth a go. -- 360 capsules are regular $120 at Procaps but are on sale for $100 through this evening. ![]()
___
Other supplements that have some specific brain benefit...
COQ10 -- it's in the mitachondria of every cell in your body... or that cell dies. It's essentialy like the gas in your car that gives it the energy to go. So it's in every living cell in your brain. -- If you take Andew's supplements, this is one of his three "must haves: Essential-1 w/ Vitamin D3 multi vitamin, Omega-3 and COQ10. Andrew always has ah crazy good value on it in October as a TS. --- Also, COQ10 is an anti-oxidant that can cross the blood/brain barrier.
Alpha Lipoic Acid -- Alpha Lipoic Acid is an anti-oxidant that can cross the blood/brain barrier.
Phosphatidylserine (PS) (200mg daily) -- PS is one of the most subtle supplements that I take and it's kind of hard to describe how PS works. --- PS seems to be able to helps keep cortisol levels in check when I'm under stress. My stress is still there but it's manageable and I can work through my stress effectively. lol, without PS, I'm a mess sometimes. Really. So for me, PS makes a subtle but very effective difference. --- I'd recommend 200mg of PS daily.

Did anyone watch the Monday Night 2 hour event with Andrew and Adam last night?
I am watching it now. Andrew has about 10 pieces of 8x10 paper in his hand with apprently questions from viewers.
I am now taking bets on the under over if he actually answers more than one question from the paper. LOL
I have no hope anymore @bebe777
