Re: Lessman ChocoNuvo

[ Edited ]

@Laura14  You might find the information below helpful/interesting about ChocoNuvo. The last time Andrew presented the product, he listed these numbers on a chart, based upon serving size. I was really surprised about the number of grams of sugar in vegetables and fruit compared to ChocoNuvo.

ChocoNuvo 66% - 1.8 grams of sugar - 26 calories

ChocoNuvo 74% - 1.4 grams of sugar - 26 calories

ChocoNuvo 91% - 0.5 grams of sugar - 26 calories

Fruit:

Grapes - 6.5 grams of sugar

Peaches - 5.9

Plums - 5.5

Apples 5.2

Pineapple - 4.9

Oranges - 4.7

Blueberries - 4.5

Kiwi - 4

Vegetables:

Tomatoes - 3.8 grams of sugar

Carrots - 3.6

Red Pepper - 3.6

Green Pepper - 3.1

Cucumber - 2.8

Onions - 2.8

Snap Peas - 2.8

Cauliflower 2

Pretty amazing, right?

For the ChocoNuvo, the number of plant sterol esters if the SAME no matter which percentage of chocolate you get.

If anyone can answer.....how does the Choco Nuvo compare to the Ghiradelli dark choc?

Looks as if the Ghiradelli may be higher in calories, but depends on serving size.

The price of Lessman has kept me from trying the Nuvo.

@yellowrose Are you just talking about calorie-wise or taste? I have tried Ghiradelli and it certainly is a good chocolate company. For me, the ChocoNuvo is creamier, no matter which percentage you get (66, 74, 91) compared to Ghiradelli.

But just to be clear.....ChocoNuvo was made to assist with cholesterol. Just turns out it tastes really, really good, so many of us chocoholics use it more readily because of that! Heart

Andrew made it as something that does the same as taking his CholestaCare capsules or using his Oatmeal and Oatbran that both have CholestaCare ingredients in them.

ChocoNuvo is just another way to get help with keeping your cholesterol in check.

Costwise, when you get it during his specials, you can get it down to 43 cents per square if you purchase the 300-count container for $129. Otherwise, it can be 71 cents per square for 180 pieces (also $129 when there is no special).

Hope that helps explain your question.

Thank you @World Traveler   I was interested in the assist with cholesterol comparison between the two.  I almost ordered when Lessman had his TS, but I thought about it too long and time got away from me.  Next time I'll be on it. I do want to try these. Meanwhile I was wondering if the Ghiradelli would be close to having the same benefits. I'll look into his CholestraCare capsules.

Thank you again for the info.

A doctor told me that all chocolate is good for heart health and eating it everyday reduces your chances of a heart attack and stroke.  I also read the same thing in a publication available in his waiting room.

I tried AL's Choconuvo.  It is delicious and very, very creamy.  It was so good tasting that I couldn't not control myself and ate a months worth in a day.

I usually eat Ghiradelli with the highest Cocao I can find...usually 86% or 92%.  I like it, but I can control my chocolate addiction and not eat too much at one sitting.

Thanks Carmie.  Sounds like the ChocoNuvo will test my willpower.

Until the next special pricing for the CN comes around again, I'll be

nibbling on some Ghiradelli.

Did some pantry organizing, and I found a package of unopened organic Cacao powder that I had forgotten about.

Right now I am enjoying a Cacao, almond butter, blueberry smoothie.  It's so good.

But brrrrr - I think I should had made cacao hot chocolate instead.  Had to turn the

central heat up a couple degrees.  Smiley Happy

@yellowrose Smiley LOL But it was worth turning up the heat, right?

I love chocolate, I love almond butter, and I don't have a problem with blueberries. So, next shopping trip, I think I will try that! Heart

I have Muriel's cookbook on ways to cook with ChocoNuvo, but haven't tried them yet. They sound good:

  •     Frozen Hot Cocoa
  •      Cashew Cream Berry Bliss
  •      ChocoNuvo Mug Cake
  •      BBF (banana, berry fun!)
  •      ChocoNuvo Banana Bread
  •      Mini Pecan Brownie

      and a bunch more

Anyone try her recipes with ChocoNuvo in them yet?

Yesterday the guy who was having the coughing fit, for which a square of ChocoNuvo helped calm his cough recently, was at it again yesterday. I said, "Really? You didn't learn?" LOL!

Anyway, no one had any good quality chocolate on hand, but today he came in with a whole bunch of stuff, including chocolate. He also had some tea available. He said he had a sinus infection and it makes him go into coughing attacks. He finally went to the doctor and got some meds.

Guess I need to have more ChocoNuvo available for my coworkers. They are all so busy, they don't take the time to go to the doctor and they just want some quick fixes until they can do so.
