During a 4 month stay in rehab (learning to walk again)

I needed a bedside commode for a while when I went home also..

One of the nurses that came to the house..Told me..to line the pail with a plastic bag (no holes of course)

and put some scoopable cat litter in the bag.it absorbs the smell and liquid until the bucket could be emptied.

I think that's a great idea and one which could be very helpful to a lot of people!  I don't know what your health issues are or where, but I sure hope that you have recovered or are recovering well!  Best wishes to you!

@Jo1313,

That's a good tip from the nurse for those that may need it. Thanks for posting,

Thank you for the good wishes..

I have had 6 major surgeries and long hospital stays since 2017..have one more surgery to go after the winter.

Then I'm done with Doctors..the more tests they take the more they find!..I no longer want to know!

I am doing really well but can no longer drive.

I think it's cool when practitioners give us pointers.   When I had shoulder replacement surgery I had to wear a big bolster arm sling for weeks that was hard to get on.  A PT tech showed me a better way to apply it other than how OT had shown me.  Made my life easier and he didn't have to do this he just wanted to share an observation he had and I let him know how much that meant to me.

If my dog doesn't like you, neither do I.
