Re: An example of an ignorant doctor...

@teganslaw

Excellent suggestion. Noticed throughout this conversation more than one comment made simple common sense suggestions not pushing carnivore, keto "YouTuber" videos. Thus far nothing except the same narrative continues. Doubtful common sense can reach extreme mind control. This happens in all areas of extreme beliefs.

Re: An example of an ignorant doctor...

I really wish the OP would share before and after pics so we can see how successful she has been. I know I did at one point in my weight loss journey

Some of the negativity about Carnivore diet could be eliminated if the OP admitted that the diet works great for her but might not be for everyone. Just saying that would be helpful for others. Everyone needs to find something that works for them instead of thinking that this lifestyle is good for everyone.

Re: An example of an ignorant doctor...

I have asked @Susan Louise several times if she gets blood work done annually to check kidney functions etc.  No answer...that is very telling!

If I didn’t eat a well balanced diet with some meat I wouldn’t be able to keep my pants on !! 😂

As far as dairy goes I think dairy free is the way to go.

I drink Ripple protein based milk and it has 50% more calcium than regular milk and 25% Vitamin D per 8 oz glass. Among MANY other beneficial vitamins that are good for us.

Vitamin D is known to help prevent serious illnesses.

with my medical diagnoses, if I ate a keto/carnivore diet I'd be dead in a month.  Widely known to be a dangerous, extremist fad. Yes I've researched it. No thanks.

Before and after pics aren't really necessary.  It is well known that when your body is in ketosis from low or zero carbs, you will lose weight.

You first lose body fat, then muscle. Your heart is a muscle and can be damaged.  It is important to get blood work done to monitor things.  Often there is no other way to know these diets are causing damage until it it too late.

Kidney disease usually has no symptoms until it is too late and kidney damage does not heal. AFib cannot be felt by many people including me.  Being in a AFib is a stroke waiting to happen if you don't get treated.

You should only try this way of eating with medical supervision.  I was under medical supervision when I first did low carb.....I was only 25 years old.

I lost my " baby weight" but almost died.  My potassium was way too low and I was in AFib.  I was dizzy and passing out.

I could go one and on...it wasn't a good situation.

@Susan Louise

I'm assuming you carry breath mints 24/7 for your ketosis breath.
