I am happy to take the opportunity to complain 😄

Temperature is 99, with humidity factored in is about 110. AQI is 51, could be worse.

@katie1859. I hope you stay safe and cool 😎

NYC is 101 degrees with an AQI of 90.  Humidity at least is low for now.  Am hibernating.  Possibly until October.

Re: Air Quality / Upper Respiratory

I'm on the southern end of WV; 93 degrees with a nice breeze, no haze and I didn't detect anything affecting air quality when I was out earlier.

Central NC at 4:28 pm today 99 degrees, feels like 111.  AQ 63.  Yesterday, it was 101 degrees actual temp.  Tomorrow should be 100 actual and I get to go to the dentist at 2pm.  Not looking forward to it.  I walked this morning at 9 and it was so awful, I came home changed clothes and went to the pool, the water was warm.  Not fun here right now.

Re: Air Quality / Upper Respiratory

@katie1859 I've become attentive to air quality. Pulmonary disease is brutal. My weather app includes air quality. This doesn't mean that I hibernate indoors but I do limit outdoor walks etc.

Re: Air Quality / Upper Respiratory

NOLA area, current temp is 90, humidity 63%. Air quality is 36 (good).  This is pretty typical summer weather for us.  I don't see a PM number and didn't even know what that was until I read it in this post and looked it up. Not something I generally hear on the weather reports here

PM represents Particle Matter that is in the air

It can be a composite of chemicals, fine particle matter like ash soot and toxins ( chemicals

When we learned of smoke fires in either Canada or California, these particles are danger matters that get into our lungs and sinuses

This was explained to me last week as I was sent to 2 hospitals in the ERs

I had profuse nosebleeds for four days on and off

Finally on the 14th was taken by ambulance

Here's the irony, the doctor sat down for 35 minutes and shared the issues

with whatever is out there in our air

She said I was among MANY they had been treated in a 24 hr period with these bleeds from the nose

and maybe we can laugh about it now in jest but she said this has become a worsening problem

I'm not alone dealing with this

Having sinus is a deal anyways but this is by far the WORST season I've had in years

I have seen an ENT and it's a cycle for many who are sensitive to air quality but she said this is becoming chronic

I'm not COPD but my respiratory has shown me that the air is no longer safe

and I'm in a mode of being inside air conditioned humified inside with cool air and a filtered hepa air tower

Being in Illinois I have rapidly seen our air turn to garbage and its rating has become the worst in the nation

I will take winter any day over this

It has been nasty

For all those frugal You Tube channels telling us how to save on energy bills by setting our homes to 82 and not using AC until then

In honesty, that's quite harmful considering the air and the rest Smiley Sad(
