I'm not sure where you might find this, but, my mom got my dad a sock thing to help get his very tight sox on when he had lymphodemia.  Not sure on that spelling, but it can be sounded out if you to.  It was plastic, a hard plastic. There's a supply house around here that she may have found it at.  Possibly on Amazon.  I'll get back to here on that, should I be able to find it.

 

Compression aid for sox.  It's not what he had, but very similar. About $36. On Amazon.
