Actual Doctor Visits --- Anyone Have Any Yet???

Just wondering --- regarding actual real doctor visits in their offices --- anyone have any of those yet?

So far, we've not.  I have had a doctor visit cancelled 3 times already and as it stands now, it's currently scheduled for sometime in August.???

Dental appointment for DH was rescheduled for July as of now.

Everything else is still up in the air.

We have been told we can have virtual doctor visits.  Both of us have serious lung conditions so virtual visits are not terribly helpful.  How can you listen to chests over virtual visits????

Of course, I know we can go to ER if its a true emergency.

Just wondering.....

Yes, I have, required to wear a mask.  At my primary, if you have fever or feeling sick, they request you stay in car and will come out car to see you.

I'm in NY.  Dentists are emergencies only.  Urgent care centers and some doctor offices are opened.  They are wearing masks and patients are too.   Some docs are still doing office visits by telephone or tablet or computer.  My mom went to her doctor post procedure and they only had 1 person in waiting room at a time.

Re: Actual Doctor Visits --- Anyone Have Any Yet???

My husband went to his dentist this past week for his teeth cleaning.

The dentist is doing a soft open. A  few patients each day.

I am scheduled to see the dermatologist this week. It was pushed off a few times and they asked if I wanted to do a virtual visit. Not really going to work for a yearly screening. It is important to me to make sure things are OK as my father passed from skin cancer metastisizing to other health issues and I have had a small basal cell before.

They did ask questions prior to setting the appt. They also recommend that you come by yourself and that you mask up.

@AngelPuppy1I have not personally, but I have been following a friend's medical saga -  and she has been able to see a specialist in person after virtual visits with her primary whose office co-ordinated with the specialist whom she saw last week.

My husband's Cardiologist Doctor's appointment was cancelled a few times. Then he did a virtual visit via his computer. My husband needed his prescriptions renewed. He also had another annual April check up due but they haven't worked out yet how it is going to be handled.

Since we haven't a clue how long things will continue to be on lock down. So I think his annual check up will also have to be a virual visit. But the Doctor would really like to see him because it is a check up after his heart attacks.

My hubby had two in-visit appts last week. Masks required and people are spaced out so no crowded offices.

Re: Actual Doctor Visits --- Anyone Have Any Yet???

I had a Face Time appointment with my Endocrinolgist last week and had an actual in office visit with eye doctor at the end of April. Wore a mask but no one else was in the office. They scheduled the appointments so that there would be no one in the waiting room. Right before this all started I had an appointment with my PCP so I won't see him for awhile now. My DH was to  have a derm appointment in April and that was moved to next month. So will see if that actually happens.

Re: Actual Doctor Visits --- Anyone Have Any Yet???

I had a standing appointment scheduled with my endocrinologist this summer, and received notice via email that a decision would be made closer to the actual date. My thyroid condition has been very stable for some time, so no problem either way with that one.

My typical internist 4 month was FaceTimed, office visit possible so,etc,e during the summer.

My long awaited dental appointment for replacement of a temporary filling is still in limbo. Hoping that the offfice will begin to open tomorrow (northern NJ) but could be next week too.

Re: Actual Doctor Visits --- Anyone Have Any Yet???

I had an appointment on May 6.  The office is in an old bank building, so the waiting area is large with seating spaced out.  There were 4 of us waiting...all far apart.  The other woman and myself wore masks...,two older men did not (which I thought was irresponsible on their part).

The woman at the desk/counter was not wearing a mask....but the doctor was.  The assistants I saw were also wearing masks.

Brought my own pen to sign in.

I thought it was strange they didn't require masks, but it was my first visit so I didn't say anything.  (My former doctor moved so this was my first time with a new one....and in my area it's hard to find a doctor taking new patients).  I didn't want to complain the first thing!  Came home and changed clothes and scrubbed up.
