Re: ANYONE HERE TAKE A CARB BLOCKER?

Just checked the reviews on the Dubrow product on SHQ, there are a total of 36 reviews, 11 are 5 stars, 12 are one star. You can do the math!!

Yes, if eating starches without added fat, there's no reason to

'block' carbs.  People 'block carbs' to lose weight.

I say (and have been for umpteen years) to EAT STARCH/CARBS!

but don't add the overt fat.   The fat is what makes you fat.
The human body needs carbohydrates....a good 80% of your

daily calories needs to come from carbohydrates...especially starch.

Reduce the fat% to 10-15% & weight loss will happen quickly.

I've asked you not to post on this thread in Post #14  .... it's supposed to be about carb blockers and you're trying to hijack it.

If you want to discuss nutrition, please start your OWN thread.

@sidsmom I pay no attention when you lecture, and don't click on your YouTube links.  I AM always interested in incorporating new ideas into what I am eating.  I would be truly interested if, instead of lectures, you posted recipes of the tasty and satisfying meals you prepare.  THAT would be helpful.

Re: ANYONE HERE TAKE A CARB BLOCKER?

I tried the one from Consult Health. From the many products I've tried from them (I've tried most of them), this product was the only one I've sent back. I tried it for a couple of weeks, but it gave me bad gas.

Re: ANYONE HERE TAKE A CARB BLOCKER?

The product the Dubrows are selling doesn't "block" anything. It's a chromium supplement which "helps support positive insulin action and glucose utilization, which also aids in healthy, normal metabolism" according to the product page.  I think it's probably nonsense, as with a lot (but not all) of what they sell.  Easiest way to "block" carbs, just don't eat them LOL!

It's disheartening to see so many not understand the process of

weight loss.

It's as if people WANT to spend LOTS of money on supplements,

programs, books, meetings...so they can feel like

'they tried...they really, really tried' when they continue to

fail over and over again.

How do I know this? I've been there.

Weight loss is about calorie density.

Eat foods that are 600-700 calories/per pound or less.

That automatically eliminates all processed foods, cheese

cereals, oils, nuts/seeds/avocados...all the foods which are

notorious for keeping extra weight.
And a Low Fat Whole Food Plant Based diet fits beautifully within that perimeter.
It's nothing new. It;s not a fad or trend. People, around the world,

have been eating this way for 1000x of years.  It's not a secret.

If one wants to change...they have to make change.

It's a choice.

The only MAGIC with this way of eating is...not only will you lose

weight QUICKLY, but it will reduce/eliminate issues with heart disease,

diabetes, inflammation...a myriad of issues all eliminated....

with just diet alone....and the weight loss will be sustainable,

Although it may be “fascinating” to you, is there research or a study to back it up? These kinds of claims can be counterproductive to anyone who suffers from an eating disorder. I see that this dietician has a book being released on 12/17...

@mom2four0418

I think you're right on the money with that post.

It might all boil down to "following the money" when it comes to believing claims and so-called "facts" about diet and nutrition.
