What a nice gift and it does the heart good to give to someone especially when the gift is so appreciated.  I am sure your kindness will never be forgotten.

Poor kid. Can't believe the teacher wouldn't even put in $2.50 for him. That was just awful. I probably would have said something to her about it. I also would have wondered how she treats the kids in the class and how she treats her own kids (if she had any). wth

 @Daisy Sunflower  Actually, I spoke to her several times during the school year about “issues” . She was a new teacher. That was the first year she had her own class. She made quite a few mistakes.But to her credit she listened to my comments & made changes every time.Despite that she was a pretty good teacher.

  She should have put in the $2.50.Since that year she had 3 children.I would like to think she would do things differently today.

@cherry

I see from the date on this thread that I am late for the party.  But this wait was worth it, as it is such a joy to get to read something so lovely and positive.

As I read, I had goosebumps.  What kindness you and your family have shown to this Child, and her Mother.  Bless You. Heart

@Mistic  thank you, but in all honesty ,we got so much more out of this, than we gave. It was a joy to have them in our home ,and see how happy they were. They are wonderful people ,and deserve every good thing that comes in life..We were privileged to be in a position  to help them,a bit..

What a wonderful heartwarming thing you and your family did for the young daughter of your favorite food server.  I have tears in my eyes just imagining the happiness and kindness mother and daughter are feeling.  What a fantastic gift you gave them and God Bless all of you.  Our world is so full of pain and hate and reading your Thread made me realize that there are still people like you who make life better for others.  Heart
