...I expressed my opinion about stupid doctors, used a naughty word, and got my wrist slapped. I still feel the same way but this time I won't swear.

I'm ready to yell and scream and tear my hair out. I have SEVERAL health problems that need attention but in the meantime my sister has become ill and needs my attention; I've spent most of this week rearranging my appointments so I can stay home and make sure she's ok. It's been nerve-wracking and stressful.

Yesterday I got a call from my primary care doctor; to make a long story short, she wants me to have a medication infusion but no one has been able to get hold of me (so she says) and this means I might have to have ANOTHER blood draw because the one I had recently will "expire" pretty soon.

Grrrrrrrrr.....I called the infusion centers (there are actualy TWO, which my doctor didn't tell me about; I got the information from the first facility I called) and they've never heard of me.

I calledthe 2nd infusion facility and they haven't received any orders for me, either.

By now I'm getting hot under the collar and fired off an email to my Primary Care Doctor (and even though I was pretty het up, I didn't use any swear words...hee hee!), told her what happened, and about 2 minutes later I received a copy of her email telling them to get this fixed. (However, I don't know which facility she emailed.)

This is supposed to be one of the BEST hospital/medical groups in this area but you couldn't prove it by me.

Perhaps your setup on the patient portal should be managed.

You can select message only (rather calls), see notes of visits and tests, see all referrals and ask questions by message.

Had a similiar experience  years ago where an infusion center policy was that  pre infusion labs had to be  less than 30 days old  and that the Specialist office  nursing staff dropped the ball in getting my paperwork sent and I being scheduled. I luckily  did some of my own follow up with both offices  within a few days of the  lab results  not being accepted.  Hate to say it but alot of medical offices no matter the reputation  hire more staff in the billing office  than the actual clinical people  or those who are delegated to follow up on  various Doctors orders.  I've worked in a private physicians office after retiring  from a major medical center. I spent countless hours following up on referrals that were  " left unattended to  " by the prior  employee .

Hope this comes out  so you don't have to have costly labs redrawn .

@GoneButNotForgotten

Why do you need an Infusion Center for a blood draw?

When I have had a problem with a doctor, of which I have, and still see many. The couple times I have had an issue they were then addressed as my Former Doctor.

Had my share of serious health issues, as has my wife. There were times when it was 2 or 3 doctor visits in the same day. I realized our problems were like many others and dealt with them the best way we could. It had nothing whatsoever to do with our doctors.

Sorry you are having multiple issues and hope you find the best way through them, for yourself and your sister.

I feel your sense of frustration and I get it because I go through similar situations pretty often with my health issues!  I often feel like I want to let loose with some choose words myself!  And I do at times, but only to myself!  LOL!!! There is a lack of communication quite often between departments, doctors, facilities, etc. and it does get very tiring and confusing.  When a person does not feel well, it really adds to the stress and feeling of --- hey ---- is anybody listening --- does anybody know what is going on?  I have switched doctors, facilities, pharmacies, etc., and my experience has been, it's pretty much all the same, no matter where you go.  I am just commiserating with you --- you are not alone in how you feel!  Best wishes and I hope you get things sorted out!

We don't do patient portal. We not like to use our computer for stuff like that. It does not make our MDs very happy, but too bad.

@Group 5 minus 1, I love the patient portal. I can check my results the same day rather than waiting for the Dr to give me the results at the next visit or have someone call me weeks later.

I can order my medications and also message my doctor. So far it´s working for me.

If you get your results in a timely manner, then that´s a good thing.
