I would never scold anyone for being afraid.

@agb80

I live and work in a huge Medical community, the majority of my friends and family are also in the medical field.  Not one has refused to be vaccinated, none of them were mandated to do so.

Of, Course, Your choice.

@Drythe, same here.  There has been a robust response to the vaccine here from health care professionals.

 There are many nursing assistants in long term care facilities that have been vaccine hesitant. Nursing assistants in long term care have not graduated from a science based program to become employed are are not routinely involved in the complex medical management of very sick patients.

I know what has happened here locally in our area though is that many nursing assistants in long term care wanted to wait and see how those taking the vaccine did.  So, they passed on the first opportunity to be vaccinated in our state.  However, as they rolled out the second opportunity to vaccinate employees in long term care, the numbers really increased for the second drive.  After seeing that others did ok, they wanted in on the second group.

Now, we are facing situations where some nursing assistants have changed their minds and it is too late for that chance so they now have to wait until their regular category comes up to be vaccinated.  So if they are 30 years old with no underlying health conditions, they will have to wait until the vaccine is available to the general public.  At least at this time, in my state that is the way they are handling it now in order to get more vaccine doses to the other more vulnerable populations.  Basically, you passed on your 2 opportunities so now you have to wait.  There are many now that are upset and think they should be able to still be vaccinated as a priority since they are employed in long term care.  Can't win for losing as the saying goes.

My husband has had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine.  He did very well with the first vaccination with having mild soreness at the injection site.  The day after his second vaccination he did experience some fatigue.  But no fever, aches, or chills.  He is more than 2 weeks out from the second vaccination and has done very well.

I am terrified, but it seems like the Pfizer has less reaction than the Madera.

I got first vaccine and no reaction till 7 days later and chills. My arm was not sore at all. My second is the 5th. My cousin got Madera and no reaction after the second. Her partner had lousy reaction. It depends on each individual.  His hoping . I'm 84.

@qvcaddition

People react differently.  Be prepared with a painkiller afterwards, an extra blanket, be careful if you feel weak and wobbly when you go to the bathroom, etc. and rest.  That's it! It passes in a couple of days.  Make sure to have food in the house so you don't have to fuss.

@qvcaddition      My SIL did not have any reaction until 36 hours after she received her second dose.    She had chills, fatigue and vomiting.

Interesting.  1st i,ve heard of this. Three of my friends had no reaction at all.  Two very sick.  It all depends on the body.

Re: 2nd Vaccine Results

[ Edited ]

DH & I had our second Moderna shots yesterday early afternoon.  Around 9pm I started feeling tired, then spent a sleepless night because I had so many aches and pains.  First I felt cold and had to add an extra blanket, then a few hours later I was hot - but no actual fever. Both arms hurt, which is kinda crazy.  Meanwhile DH has had no symptoms so far.  I just took 2 Arthritis Strength Tylenol so hoping for the best.  It's worth every ache and pain to know that I'll have some immunity going forward.
ETA Had to take Tylenol all day yesterday, but today I'm just fine.

Our shots were given at a local independent pharmacy, by the owner/pharmacist.  Went there at the appointment time, had the shot and waited 20 minutes for a reaction, then left.  I wish that everyone had the opportunity to get their shot that way!  It shouldn't have to be a stressful experience.

@shoesnbags       My Town has arranged to have the vaccines distributed.   My DH and I got our first dose of the Moderna vaccine on February 3rd.   I was truly impressed by how well organized they were.  It took about 25 minutes to go through the entire process (check in; registration, getting the shot, and waiting 15 minutes to be sure we had no reactions).  We go for our second dose on March 3rd.

Afraid of the vaccine. The Covid terrifies me. I have so many autoimmune problems I forget them all.

I would not survive Covid; I have lung issues. I see some of the best specialists in the world. They all got vaccinated and one started to explain why I should get the shot. I stopped her and told her I would. She said she didn't mean to talk down to me but some of her patients were antivaxxers.

Some people who survive Covid end up in nursing homes for life due to strokes. Covid attacks many organs, that's why the symptoms are so diffuse.

If you chose not to get the vaccine, please wear a mask.

I had my second Pfizer shot yesterday. I came home and took a nap and slept more than usual. No arm issues. It took about twenty four hours to feel like myself.

You cannot blame illnesses that happen seven to ten days later on a vaccine. Maybe you just got sick; there is no way of knowing.
