@phoenixbrd I’ll have to look for the braggs dressing. It’s good to have at home when I don’t feel like making my own. Like I said I’m still using some oil in things. I did cut down a lot though.

Yesterday’s burrito bowl was delicious and filling.

Today will be green juice, apple and banana

salad, greens, etc. chick peas

stuffed red pepper with quinoa  and veggies

@SandPiper  Ok if I copycat?  I love quinoa in peppers.  I'll saute some mushrooms, onions, garlic, chopped tomatoes, zucchini, Italians parsley, in LS veggie broth and add a little Italian seasoning and stuff those babies!  Salad for lunch, so we are on the same page.  Of course, you know what they say about great minds!Heart

Re: It is a good thing that our body craves homeostasis. I'l...

@phoenixbrd

Yep, nice sunny, and hot day. My wife is out shopping and is going to fill our 5 gallon gas can after shopping. Told her to get only 3 gallons because the full can weighs too much for her. With my wrist the way it is, I don't want to wrestle with a 45lb gas can right now. Lifting it, not so much. Holding to pour it into the tank, a whole different animal.

I've lived most of my adult, and much of my teen life, with ice bags on some part of my body. Pretty much covered everything from Plantar Fasciitis on the very bottom of my feet, and everything in-between there to the tip top of my head, where I had 2 Scalp Reduction Surgeries.

If there is some part of my body that hasn't felt an ice bag, I have no idea where that might be. Learned many decades ago to go directly to ice, especially to prevent swelling, and to speed up clotting time for any bleeding injury. Got on on my wrist right now and it will stay there until I mow.

Bought a Zero Turn mower years ago. It not only saves my very arthritic fingers on both hands from having to grip a steering wheel, it also cut my mowing time in half. Used to be over a 4 hour job, now it is most of the time, less than 2 hours. Great investment in that ZTR mower.

We have all types of creatures in our back yard, and with all our trees, all kinds of different birds. We watch them mostly inside our 4 season patio room and that helps the animals to not feel threatened, most deer especially.

Wife also has tomato plants and some herbs, but she is more into the flower garden than the food plants. I do most of the digging and she does most of the planting and maintenance. I do water them when she is gone Pet Sitting. Next week she will be on a 15+ day sitting job.

Thank you for caring, and you certainly are doing great things for yourself and your body. If only more humans would do so!

MayI jump in here. @hckynut Well you are a warrior. For me, not too many parts of my body have seen ice packs, until I was in my early 50’s and I broke my wrist.  That was terrible. I cringe when I think of it.

Envy you a lot. We live in the city. Houses are so close and not much property. I have managed to dig a veggie bed though. I have tomatoes, parsley, peppers and eggplant growing. I really want zucchini too but gosh they take up too much room, which we don’t have.

Only animals we see are stray cats, skunk, raccoon and possum.  Only birds  we see are robins, blue jays, cardinals and the usual little brownish birds (have no idea what they are called).  One day when the time is right we will move to a more open, beautiful area.

@phoenixbrd Well you just gave me another suggestion.  Sautéing in veggie broth. 👏👏👏 There is so much to learn.

Green juice, apple, banana

Hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend. I know one thing, no hot dogs for me.

@SandPiper  Yes....I buy low sodium veggie broth at Trader Joe's and always have a few on hand at home.  Great substitute for butter for saute and if you let the broth boil down with the onions and then add more broth it gives a really good flavor.  I also use this process when I'm making vegan gravies.

left over stuffed quinoa pepper....wow, were those good!

sweet potato, broccoli, cucumber salad

Happy Holiday!

@hckynut

I checked on that zero lawn mower as I was thinking about buying a Honda for my DH.  Whoa!!!! that is a sassy buggy!  I think it would be fun to mow the lawn with that monster machine.  If we ever buy a home with some land, I could see how that would be a wise investment.

 We have been looking at homes on Zillow for awhile and, besides a little land, we also would like an outdoor living area like your 4 seasons room.  You get to see the deer come in, that would be so special.  We love going out in the morning and watching the birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds.  And, because my husband has a camera on the backyard, we caught a squirrel coming into the garden.  Oh no, he is eating the radish tops as soon as they appear! We have a cruelty free cage that we are going to have to use so we can relocate him.   We have tomatoes, squash, watermelon, peppers, radish, and cucumber growing  and I have a small herb garden.  All of this  would become Mr. Squirrel's grocery store if we don't relocate him to the forest.

I had to laugh at your description of icing from head to toe.  I'm glad you are on it and know you will be healing in time.  Take good care of yourself and enjoy the Memorial Day weekend.

I made these stuffed green peppers as you posted but substituted broccoli for the zucchini as that is what I had on hand.  Delicious @phoenixbrd!  Thanks for the suggestion 👍

@BExplorer  Glad to see you here.  We only have a few more days of checking in, but it is always wonderful to hear from a new poster..

Yes, weren't they yummy.  I was surprised to find that green bell peppers are unripe red peppers.  The taste is sweeter and if you decide to go with red, Costco carries a bag of 2 yellow, orange, and red at a good price.  I also buy them at Trader Joe's.  Thanks for the post.
