For those that are traveling to different states, maybe they want to see where they stand on these types of numbers, but they will have several to choose from. This State is only 42%, that State is 40%, guess the old coin flip can decide.
If people want to base what they do, or how they to spend their life, concerned with arbitrary numbers, ok for them. Anyone that follows the national news has heard so many "experts" reversing their original claims about the virus, it's hard to keep up.
I believe what I thought st the very beginning of this virus, the where/when/who and why. As more facts become known it has solidify what I thought and still think about these reasons.
This is still a free country and it let's me decide how I choose to live my life. Being in fear of "might be's/could be's" to me would be wasting each day I have left. Used to be's and what might he's mean little to me. What "is" will always be my way of life, it is known as the "present", and my plan is to enjoy it until I can't.

@hckynut Oh man this is the best post I have seen yet. I am with you. Most have already lost more then a year. I am glad that my life went as normal. I think they want us to live in fear, but since we don't know when our last day, week or year is, I choose to live each day to the fullest. I enjoyed all holidays witth my family. I don't regret it one bit. Life is too short and I say live each day to the fullest. God Bless you John!
@BalletBabe I am all for living life to the fullest, but there were many who did that and are no longer here. I don't really worry about myself that much, but I wonder how many asymptomatic people infected others that developed more serious problems or even died? I don't live in fear, but I follow the guidelines and use my common sense.

@reiki604 I am at peace with adults taking whatever risks they wish. I just hope the children of the anti-vax people are darn lucky. They would be innocent victims if some variant seriously affects kids.

Has anyone thought abt how quickly this vaccine was produced. Has anyone thought of the millions of dollars that the pharmaceutical companies have made off these vaccines ???
The vaccine is not brand new. SARS -- also called Covid-2 -- hit in 2012 and a vaccine for that was developed. SARS and today's Covid are members of the same coronavirus family. The SARS vaccine is where research and development began for the covid vaccine.

There is no need to become excited one way or another with numbers. We will hear the number THEY want us to hear when THEY want us to hear it. Just like during the pandemic.
Numbers are easily manipulated and none of us have any way of verifying them.

With restrictions lifted now, very few are wearing a mask. Is that really the way to go? Knowing fully well that the pandemic is not over and still unpredictable in terms of how long we are protected as well as variants that could infect those who are not vaccinated that are among us. My husband refuses to wear a mask now. We went into Home Depot yesterday and he saw that everyone was wearing one so he pulled one out of his pocket and put it on. Does Home Depot still mandate mask wearing? Or was it all done voluntarily. I didn't notice their signage so maybe someone knows. In any case, getting sick and hoping that the medical coders don't bill you for covid is a game of roulette that I don't want to play. Many medical coders have been coding incorrectly for covid patients per their management from the beginning.

Can you say why you don't trust the numbers?

Might as well. It's a drop in the bucket of the 9 million dollars the city is currently owed in unpaid tickets.

Has anyone thought about the fact that Our
International Pandemic Response Team was shut down before COVID hit, with no reason given?
WHO made the money on that & all that followed?

One thing that probably makes some folks reluctant to be vaccinated are reports from people they know or hear about who have suffered anywhere from a few to several days of flu-like symptoms and downtime afterward.
I know two people who suffered extreme side effects for several days after the Moderna shot #2. I've not heard of anything bad from many more acquaintenances who had the Pfizer shots, myself included.
Doctors have told some people that the flu-like aftermath of the shot is actually the immune system doing exactly what the shot was designed for and so it doesn't mean anything serious.
My younger son was one of the Moderna victims for a while. Not everyone can afford to stay home and feel sick for a few days because of the shots.
It's a shame that there seems to be that much difference in the various types of shots--and I'm not aware that folks usually have a choice as to which type they get.

Last night New York celebrated reaching the 70% threshold with fireworks displays at 10 locations throughout the state.
A tickertape parade will be held in NYC on July 7th to honor essential workers.
Make of this what you will.
