What difference does it make whether or not there are any symptoms?? That's purely academic. We are suppose to act like everyone has the virus regardless of the presence symptoms.

@SilleeMee If you have symptoms you should not be making any trips to the grocery store and you should be self quarantining and might need to contact your physician. There are different guidelines for those with symptoms. If you have no symptoms you can follow guidelines and make trips for necessities. People need to know what the symptoms are.

I understand that. But who's to say which people are going to know the difference and some people might think nothing of having the 'aches 'n pains' and then they just go about their business while spreading the virus. The guidelines are there just as it says "guidelines" not rules or regulations. Some people do not follow guidelines. We should all just stay inside and act like we are in quarantine. If not we will just keep spreading the virus.

Just because someone says you can't cross a line doesn't mean everyone will listen, much less obey.

yes. please correct whatever it is?

I pray that people do not come to the forum expecting accurate information.

100.4 could be other things and does not mean you have coronavirus. If people have a question about their health they need to talk to their physician and not seek medical advice here.

I feel this is to panic more people.

@doxie1 This is not meant to instill panic. There are people that think a person needs to have a really high fever to have COVID-19. The information I post will come from the same reliable sources a physician will use. This comes directly from the CDC.

@Mindy D

I do not think you are intentionally trying to instill panic. I do feel like you are experiencing a lot of stress about this and that you need to reduce your stress for your health.

Now look at this from the readers side.

1. The thread title is a big 104.5

2. The thread says this temperature may indicate coronavirus.

3. The thread title changes to  100.4

4. The thread changes to a graph

If someone has a temperature of 104.5 they should get medical advice from their physician

If someone has a temperature of 100.4 they may have something other than the coronavirus or they may not be sick at all.

If someone thinks they have the coronavirus they should talk to their physician

I feel like someone's physician is more knowledgeable about their patients than on a shopping forum

I do not mean to disrespect you . I do feel like this post created confusion.

I do hope you can find a way to manage your stress.

OP, seriously, what positive experience are you looking to achieve by seeking to incite more fear.  People in many countries are all living through same.  Anyone seeking factual AND complete information can do so in their own areas via their own government, health officials.  Most people, most...seek facts.  A shopping channel forum is not where anyone should be seeking facts.

@BeautyLver First, it is speculative that you say I'm "seeking to incite fear" and I resent that statement. Second, no one has to read posts if they would rather get information from other sources. Third, your statement that "A shopping channel forum is not where anyone should be seeking facts;" is your opinion. Thes have different opinions about this and have stated so on the Forum.

Anything pertaining to this virus, its overall seriousness is strictly about facts, not opinions.  Perhaps your research capabilities would  be better used to follow your local protocols to keep yourself safe.  Do you know ALL of the SPECIFIC symptoms?  Many individual symptoms mimic a slew of other possibilities.  People here are being honest with you, you simply choose to not hear.

@Mindy D ,  in all sincerity, please stop playing doctor.

At this point there are more than enough sources of credible, helpful information available to the population.

Starting at 104°, amending that to 100.4°, someone throws in 98.6°...

and I ask myself what's the use of writing or reading any of these?Edification? No. Just another layer of discouragement.

My grand’s pediatrician says not to treat any fever until it is 99.5. Maybe it’s different for adults. 104 is a very high temp and I can’t imagine waiting until your temp is that high before taking Tylenol or contacting your dr. Young children can seize at a temp that high.

@kze There are patients that have had no fever or have had lower fever but this is the temperature CDC points to. They do not state how they derived this number. You can be asymtomatic and be infected. No cough, no fever, no malaise and still have the virus.

That's mind-boggling, isn't it....no symptoms, but carrying the virus.  Ugh!

I wish I had a pair of special glasses that I could look through and see the infected people...wouldn't that be helpful?!  That reminds me of a scifi movie titled They Live (1988).

@Nightowlz, must be common in hypothyroidism since my normal temperature is more like 97.7 or lower since I never check it when I'm feeling good.  I actually threw away a thermometer once because it was reading low and I was sure I had a fever.  Then, I got a new one and got the same reading. If I'm at 99 or above, I'm generally in the bed or on the couch with the covers on.  Do you also have a slow resting heart rate (assuming you have ever checked it)?  Mine is 48 bpm, normal is around 60 bpm.  Before I was diagnosed, it was 38 and the doctor sent me directly over to the heart specialist (who did a stress test and sent me back to my doctor saying I was fine).

Everyone should have a handle on THEIR NORMAL BODY TEMPERATURE.  98.6 is only an average. for example my normal temperature is 97 so anythinhg over 100 is more of a concern than someone who runs around 99.

I am taking temperature daily to observe any irregularities. If need be I will contacy my physician.
