My first impression of winter white forest from just smelling the bottle (and the styling cream) was that it was a very interesting complex scent. I smelled a wonderful spearmint, with a bit of a dessert smell, mixed with a spicy masculine cologne scent.
I will note that I absolutely love spearmint and have always preferred it over peppermint. Also, I really really dislike sandalwood. I was scared to try the Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin because of the sandalwood but I don’t even smell it in there.
I used it to cleanse for both 1st and 2nd cleanses last night. It was very minty which was nice, and it smelled more and more like dessert to me, good enough to want to eat it! and less like men’s cologne. Today the scent of WWF is still very strong in my hair. The scent is remaining the longest and strongest in my hair out of any of the other scents I have tried. The mint and spice have faded to a warm, delicious, and edible smell. It really reminds me of Fall Vanilla White Pumpkin.
I like it, but I don’t know yet if it will make it into my favourites. My favourites for scent are Fall Tuscan Pear, Honey Peach, Coconut Lime, Mango Coconut, Winter Vanilla Mint, Winter White Citrus, Red Currant, and Tropical.

@Souperkrys Very well stated. Good description of White Forest. I agree wholeheartedly.

@Souperkrys - Great description. I had the same feeling as you because I'm not a fan of sandalwood. I kept stalling but trusted @World Traveler with her description and bought the 16 oz as a trial.
WWF worked well for me and I only smell the minty fresh scent and no sandalwood (thank goodness).
Another win for Chaz!

I’ve waited to give my opinion of Winter White Forest because I wasn’t sure exactly what I thought of it. The scent itself was nice—definitely a complex combination of scents that morph back and forth, with the spearmint and sandalwood most prominent, but neither dominant or extreme.
But when I first opened the bottle was the first and only time that I had an emotional reaction to a product that was so intense and intimate that I started bawling like a baby. It smelled exactly like my husband. He died nine months ago. He always used a sandalwood soap and mint toothpaste. This particular combination of scents in WWF smells exactly like him when he got out of the shower.
You’d think that being reminded of my soulmate would be a good thing. And it was, and is. But it was so absolutely intense an emotion that it made me extremely sad because it also reminded me just how much I miss him. Now that I’ve used the new scent in the CC as well as some of the other ancillary products, I tend to feel the comforting emotion more. So it’s a good thing.
I apologize for getting a little extreme in my opinion, but this is honestly the first time I have ever experienced anything even remotely like this. Winter White Forest will always have a special place in my WEN inventory.
❤️🕊💔

@geezerette - I'm so sorry for your loss. IMO scents are such a huge part of our lives. Different scents can set off different emotions/memories. I'm sure your initial "sniff" jolted you back in time, however, I'm glad that now when you smell WWF, your have happy memories. Riley1

So sorry for your loss, and totally understand your reaction @geezerette 💙.
Funny how we associate scent with memory.

What a beautiful picture you painted @geezerette. And I’m so sorry for your loss. It’s funny how scents can evoke memories like that, but amazing that they can.
I was was wondering if anyone has tried the Winter White Forest RTM and how it compares to the CC? What notes stand out to you? Is it strong spearmint?

Thank you for your kind words. In fact, thanks to everyone who offered condolences. I hesitated posting simply because I didn’t want to seem like I was fishing for sympathy, but as I said, this was such a visceral reaction unlike I’ve ever experienced. I know that Chaz himself is a believer that many things that happen to us are more than just coincidence.
Anyway, @Souperkrys, I have also tried the WWF RTM. And no, I don’t find the spearmint to be strong or dominant. It morphs, just like the other WWF items. In fact, WWF is the first scent that I have tried that all products smell the same. (At least the products I have and to my nose.) To me, the other scents normally are somewhat different depending on the product, i.e. the oil will be slightly different than the cleansing conditioner.
So to answer your question, I find the WWF RTM to smell the same as the WWF CC. As usual, that’s just my opinion though.😉
