Just bought my first professional hair dryer!! Folica had a 25% sale and went for it. Pricey but makes no sense to spend tons of money on hair care products and keep using my cheap $30 dryer. SIL (she's a hairdresser) recommend the original Solano for my hair type and saw that it was recommended on here as well. She only uses Solano or occasinally a CHI. So purchased a Solano original, SIL said it was good for fine hair. Never put much effort into a good technique for blow drying but think the new dryer will make a difference. Excited and now need to watch videos on how to get that beautiful blowout.

@segrl21 I have the Super Solano and love it! I've been air drying my hair for months now but it's starting to get chilly and since I have to get up for work I'll probably start using the hair dryer again.

@segrl21, congrats on getting a Solano at a great price. Smiley Happy

From other posts I've read, Folica seems to be a great site to purchase a Solano (or other hair dryer). They seem to have good sales on a regular basis.

Chaz uses the Solano at his salon. I think he generally uses the Super Solano, but he recommends the Solano hair dryers.

I'd appreciate it if you would share how the Solano works for your hair, especially since your hairdresser mentioned that the Solano was good for fine hair. -- I've been using a portable fan to dry my hair for years because it works more quickly (4-6 mins.) and is easier to use than a hair dryer. I also get better results with my portable fan. -- SO I'm curious to read about your results!! Smiley Happy

Enjoy!! Smiley Happy

I would never think of a hand held fan but bet it makes less frizz?  I have fine wavy hair but a lot of it. So my current dryer causes heat damage because it takes so long to dry.  My SIL said before Solanos were available on the internet  they were near the $300 range when you had to buy them through the salons. So we are lucky to have sites like Folica. I will give a review once I've used it a few times. All the reviews I've read online are good and say its the best dryer they've ever used. Very excited to try it for the first time.

Thanks for the review @HSB1204 . Ordered the original because my SIL/hairdresser said it was better for fine hair. She uses the Supersolano and has had it for almost 8 years & uses it on most of her clients. I'm very excited to try it and online reviews are good.

@segrl21, lol, noooo... that would be too much work. I have a 10-12 inch (in diameter) desk fan that I use.

For a very long time I used to just let my hair air dry which took 45- mins to an hour. One day I was running late for an appointment and my hair was still wet, so I decided to try drying it with my desk fan. It took me less than 10 minutes to do the first time. It was great!!!

Now I just sit in front of the fan and let the fan dry both sides of my hair. I fluff the roots of my hair to help give my hair more body and decrease the drying time (4-6 minutes). I have a bit of a wave to my hair, so when periodically I'll scrunch my hair so that the Wen smarthold moussie memory will "remember" my wave. Smiley Happy I have not a lot of baby fine hair that is a few inches below my shoulders.

I've tried out a few of my friends hair dryers but it's more complicated than sitting in front of my portable fan, it takes longer and I don't like the results as much. That said, I still haven't tried a Solano yet.

Occasionally I'll still air dry my hair, but these days I generally use my desk fan because it give my hair a bit more volume.

I wanted the Solano for a long time to but I was afraid it would be to heavy for me.  I called the salon the few weeks ago and they suggested I order the Lite model.  So I just treated myself (again lol).  Explained to my DH it's like when he buys tools he wants the best and so do I.  Between my Wen shopping this weekend and now this I don't think he wants to hear about my hair anymore, he doesn't even know it's going to be a Chaz weekend yet.

@ANewHue The Super Solano is definitely heavy so unless your DH wants to hold it for you it's probably best to go with the lite version. Cat Tongue
