 I have a problem with the strong rubber smell as well. So concerned that my hair will smell like an old tire. I aired the brushes out for several days but the odor persists. Today I sprayed with febreeze and will give it a couple more days. Someone posted that Chaz suggest washing with wen so I will try that next. I really like the brushes and handle is very functional.  But if the smell doesn’t dissipate they will have to go back.
