@sonechko, you have beautiful hair. I used to do copper highlights but it was difficult to keep the color vibrant. It sounds like henna red is not high maintenance. Have you found any downside to using henna?

No so far @lrmuffin. One may consider it may seem a little messy, but I don't think so. The mixture of HCL Henna, when right consistency, is picked up easily with their brush and with almost no drippings. I personally find it more difficult to do a chemical color from the box myself, than this Henna color.
The length of time to keep it on is rather long - two hours, but it took me longer to go to the salon and back, not to mention how much more money I spent vs. five dollar full head color with this henna for me (half a pack).
Rinsing it off, because it's drying herbal muddy substance.
But then again it depends on a shower head. I have Culligan, like @quadmimi also has, and Culligan head has "Massage" position.
The strong stream of water washes out my WEN in no time and does the same wonderful job on washing off Henna. Also, if you keep hair under a plastic cap, it stays moist and easier to wash off than when it is drying with no cap.
By the way, when you washing off henna, the process is so much easier, when you add conditioner to the hair, so I add WEN.
I do not see any significant downside in my opinion @lrmuffin, but asignificant plus is this natural organic Henna binds with my hair and covers gray (yay!), hair is well conditioned, and the color stays vibrant.

Thank you @FleaMktQn! The most compliments I get are that the color looks so natural, like it is my own.
I'd never consider color Red because of it's high maintenance, but with this Henna it is easy. I ordered "Light Brown" henna. On picture below was a first time color. If I'd only color the roots, that's what I'd have, I guess.

@sonechko, thanks for your complete answer. I’m interested in this at some point in future. I’ve used chemical colors since I was in my late twenties to cover my graying hair. I don’t want to continue for another 20 or 30 years .

I know @lrmuffin. I had to stop it completely. I also hated that chemical smell on me during the coloring process and long after, regardless of the color. When you cleansing with WEN for awhile, having any kind of s..t in you hair is quite noticable and unwelcome change. Lol!

@sonechko Oh my where is your thin hair,, You have beautiful hair, love the color.
I also color my roots at home as I tried paying someone a "bunch" of $ to color the roots, but hey they just come back! lol
I will check this color site out also...I have to say only 2 days into the Indigo & it is keeping my color looking so good, I can say I won't have to color my roots near as often, which is a good thing.
I don't think I have any natural hair color left, only what grows down from my root touch up. I DO not have a pretty gray/white like all the ladie's here. I have just "no" color if I don't do my roots.
Between this & the Bella/Indigo this could be an even better Wen year..
Thank you so much for sharing...

I cleansed with the new Duo. I'll definately buy more of it.I love the regular.
Indigo was a little messy for me, though I tried to minimize it. Left it on for 40 minutes under a cap. Here's how it affected my henna copper red hair. The photo below is how my hair was earlier this year. Last photo - two years ago.
