Re: WEN Monthly Chat - January 2021

Please forgive me.  I sometimes get scatter brained.  The Wen paddle brushes grab better than the S. Villa ones.  Now, the Wen paddles are not mixed bristles but they do grab very well.  I use the S. Villa paddle that is both bohr and plastic.  I take a large section and as I'm running brush through, I pull across head and aim  blower at it.  Like, I get the hair in the brush and pull to opposite side while drying to achieve sleek, straight.  Round brush makes my hair do all that pa plap ap a  LOL!!  at mids and ends and makes ropey curls.  Now, I think it looks great on the models but it's just my preference to do the other way.  The Wen paddle ones, both large and small are either plastic or nylon bristols only.  They are very good though.  Glad I have both.

@77yangya How do you clean the paddle brush? I had to purchase another one because I cleaned the paddle brush the same way I do all my brushes, dunked in water with some WEN CC mixed in, let dry.

The problem is that water got in/under the puffy part of the brush head, and now there is  no "spring" to that part of the brush. I can't get it to respond as well as when it was new.

Thus, the additional purchase of the big paddle brush to replace the ruined one. Smiley Sad

Re: WEN Monthly Chat - January 2021

Hi, World Traveler....

I did that a while back.  Any brush that has that "padded" bottom to it cannot be immersed in water.

I clean mine, firstly, I take all the hair out of it best I can.  Then I fill up the sink a few inches with some soapy water.  Just dish detergent and warm water.  I hold the brush bristle side down into the water and swish gently but I don't let the bottom of the brush touch the water.  It's tricky, I know.  I do it VERY gingerly.

I found better yet that holding the brush bristles in the stream of water was better but to get some suds on it, just gently swish bristles in water then rinse holding bristes in stream.  I then wipe dry with paper towel then blow dry brush itself.

Hope this helps!

@77yangya Yes, thank you; that was very helpful. Don't want to keep purchasing the paddle brushes because of ruining them when cleaning. Smiley Sad

Re: WEN Monthly Chat - January 2021

Okay, I am almost giving up on anything Chaz sells that has a spray. I was having problems with the hairspray container clogging, having to clean it out, asking for replacements, etc.

Then I was having trouble with the hair tonic sprayer and kept trying to clean it. But because the product wasn't working well for me after a while anyway, that solved the problem of the nozzle.

And then I decided to go back to his texturing spray that always worked well as a hairspray before he came out with the dedicated hairspray product. But now that one is clogging too!

It must be me! ha! That is the only common denominator. Smiley Happy

I have to clean any of those three after only a few uses, and I don't think I should have to do that. I'm almost to the point where I feel I will just go with some other brand hairspray and stop the frustration. Hate to do that, but I hate it more when I have to keep cleaning the spray/nozzle after using. Smiley Mad

Okay, I feel better. Thanks for letting me rant. Heart

Re: WEN Monthly Chat - January 2021

The problem I'm having is one of the sprayers on the RTM. It doesn't clog, however, every time I give a spritz, I have to pull the nozzle thingy back up. I should have requested a new sprayer, but I have plenty of RTMs to grab a sprayer from.

I wonder if Chaz somewhere along the line changed Manufacturers for his sprayers.

@World Traveler

I know you didn't care too much for the tonic & spray system.

I just put mine in a cleaned out oil bottle & use the dropper.

It works way better & I have total control of where I put it.

I haven't had trouble with any other spray items, so I guess I am lucky..Smiley Happy  I have another hair spray I alternate with, & it clogs as well sometimes..(I have use a toothpick to get it working again) lol

@riley1 I too have experienced this with the RTM spr as hers as well. Also a few of mine, instead of spraying a mist give me one sudden burst.

@riley1 Oh, I HATE that sudden burst! It is a straight shot to the head. ha!

I checked to see what Nick Chavez has, as I used to use his for a short time before I became a WEN gal. He used to have a lot to choose from, but there are only two on QVC. One is a duo with something else I don't want, and the one I would settle for is on waitlist. Smiley Sad

I'll just pick something up from the store this weekend.

Re: WEN Monthly Chat - January 2021

I've been a casual WEN user for quite a while, but wanting to get back into regular use.  I am intrigued by the seasonals and was wondering when the next A/D for this or a TSV might be available?  I don't see any coming up any time soon?
