Using the oil's

[ Edited ]

I know that many of you use the oil's as a hair and scalp treatment. I have used the oil as an overnight treatment too, but I don't do it as much as I should because I have a really hard time getting all of it washed out. I cleanse my hair twice but, don't feel I am getting all the oil out, and my hair does not feel or look clean. Could you all share any recommendation's you might have for getting all of the oil out after an overnight treatment? Thank You

Sorry @Love4cats,

I've never had any problem getting hair and scalp clean after using WEN oil. I don't do anything special or different after using oils. I just Wenwash as usual.

When i read your "hair doesn't feel or look clean", my 1st thought was you're skimping on the WEN or the water, or both.

Use enough WEN CC and be generous with water so it feels 'frothy'. Work WEN across your scalp using the pads of your fingers, not your nails. Rinse well, and when you feel it's rinsed enough, rinse again anyhow.

Repeat.

I feel the same Love my cats, ( love my cats too!) so I use a few drops of oil in the styling cream which makes my hair shiny. I have fine hair and the oil is just too much as a treatment. My sister has coarse hair and uses it as a treatment with no problems.

@Love4cats  How much oil do you use for a scalp treatment? It sounds like maybe you're using too much and that may be why you're having problems getting it out all. Whether or not I've done an overnight oil treatment I use the same amount of Wen for my first and second cleanse and I've never had problems getting it all out.

Thank you all for your reply's. I tried the oil again last night, but only on my hair, not the scalp. It came out good after my 2 cleanse's. Maybe I use too much on my scalp, will try that next time, but using less.

I do the oils over night three times a week.  I make sure that I use enough cleansing conditioner to really get into my scalp so that it feels nice and thickly creamy and frothy.  Rinse and repeat.  Mine always comes out squeaky clean.  Rinse well too!  If your hair is long, you're gonna need a decent amount.  Mine's just been cut and it's sort of a pixie.  I only need five pumps for the first cleanse and five for the second.  Leave the second one on, don't rinse until you've completed everything else with your shower.  That way it penetrates into the hair.  Rinse your hair lastly and completely.  I hope this helps.  I rinse all kinds of ways too.  I rinse from behind, from forward facing and I massage scalp vigorously while rinsing.

Hedge said it really well.   I guess I'm not as good a teacher as I thought!

The oil is great for hair and body but you're missing out on it being great on the scalp.  It's good for the folicles.  Good foliciles, good hair.  This is Chaz's concept of the oils and much more, of course.  The one poster said a good thing too.  The one called HBS1 something or other.  Sorry, I love you but I'm bad with names!

Love my cats, I use the oil twice a week, but only on my scalp, not my hair.  I've had fine, oily hair my whole life, but I don't have any trouble washing the oil off my scalp with the usual double cleanse.  I do use more oil than normal, because I have a big head (wear a men's medium hat size) so it takes about 5-6 droppers to completely cover my scalp and massage it in.  Some of my hair does get oil on it, but only incidentally.  If I want to add moisture to my hair, I don't use WEN oils, I use Remoist overnight.

How much WEN CC do you use per cleanse, and how long is your hair, and what formulas do you use?  I usually use 7-8 pumps out of a 32 ounce bottle per cleanse, that seems to add up to about the same amount of CC as one pump from a gallon.  I have chin-length hair, and usually use Cucumber Aloe as the first cleanse after an oil treatment, with a different formula for the second cleanse.

You might consider trying CA as the formula you use after an oil treatment, and maybe give Remoist a try for your hair, instead of the oil as well.  Good luck, I hope I've been helpful.

Oh @77yangya !  You make me laugh! Smiley Happy

@Love4cats,   I work the oil into my scalp. The oil going onto my hair is incidental, and after washing it out with WEN CC, my hair and scalp are 'squeaky clean'.
