Re: Tea Tree -- anyone use FOR hair growth?

[ Edited ]

Thank you @Kjelle for this post!

I was thinking, but now for sure, I won't cancel my last TSV with 32 oz CC and 4 oz oil shipment in Tea Tree, but possibly will increase the order.

That value was fantastic, taking to consideration large size CC and oil in it. I also love TT RTM too. The styling creme in TT I could do without, I have many others I favor over the TT SC, but oh well!

I will religiously continue with TT oil and first cleanse CC. Woman Happy

Re: Tea Tree -- anyone use FOR hair growth?

I love TT for growth and my sensitive scalp which included very severe dryness and flaking (not dandruff) from many years of perms and coloring.  I started with TT several years ago and make sure that I have plenty of stock at home and I keep a bottle with my hairdresser.

Re: Tea Tree -- anyone use FOR hair growth?

I have never tried TT oil or CC.  Does it stink??

am considering ordering it and tryin it.

have read ALOT of reviews about how it helps your hair to grow.  I think the oil would be my first purchase.

@addicted2q The TT oil is pretty strong so it would probably take some getting used to.

@addicted2q  It's not perfume that's for sure, but stink?  Stink is garbage, tom cat spray, fish and brussles sprouts reheated in a microwave.  So, no, I wouldn't say stink.  Tea Tree has a very strong medicinal,  herbal, slightly vegital scent to it.  Many here would advise first time Tea Tree users to apply it several hours before bed time  to let the scent dissipate a bit and wrap your head in a towel to contain the scent.  I add a dropper full of the Almond mint or Lavender oil to the ends to tone down the Tea Tree scent.  It's a braver person than I that jumps into a Tea Tree overnight treatment on the first gol

@addicted2qSmiley Happy

Tea Tree contains - Jojoba Seed Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Olive Fruit Oil, CocoCaprylate/Caprate, Argan Oil, Abyssinian Oil, Tea Tree Leaf Oil, Rosemary Leaf Oil, Peppermint Oil, Eucalyptus Oil, Tocopherol.

I am sure, you've smelled some, or maybe all of these ingredients before, so as you may see there is no "pretty" smells there what-so-ever, but it does not "stink" either.

By any definition, TT smell can't be described as "stench"! ! The stench is, like @candys mine mentioned - something else altogether.

The Tea Tree CC, and especially Tea Tree Oil, have powerful natural herbal medicinal healing scent.

Not a kind of smell, I could say I love or prefer over Spring Honey Lilac for example!

But, overtime I got used to it, and learned actually liking the TT smell.

I now prefer to pick the Tea Tree over SHL every time I choose oil for a hair treatment.

I did get used to TT and enjoy it!  But honestly, every time I put SHL or any other "pretty" smelling oils in my hair - yeah, I am guilty for loving their smell MUCH more! Cat Happy

@candys mine When I first started using the TT oil I used it on its own and it was definitely a very stong and overwhelming scent. I do find that if I apply it a few hours before bed that makes a difference. I've recently started adding the 613 oil to my ends at the same time and that seems to help a little bit. The SAM oil is almost stronger to me than TT so I'm not sure I'd be able to sleep in that combination of oils.

Re: Tea Tree -- anyone use FOR hair growth?

I also, once-in-awhile, wipe my cleansed face with TT Oil. I figure, since it has some medicinal and bacteria killing properties in it, why not?  Bacteria lives everywhere, and on skin too, and may cause some skin irritations. Just in case.

TT Oil has Eucalyptus Oil as an ingredient. Right in front of my windows there are two old Eucalyptus trees, and I watch like in Spring many birds pick and pull strips of Eucalyptus bark for their nests.

I guess they know better to layer their nest with some stuff to prevent too much bacteria growing under those little birdies in their new home. Cat Happy

Re: Tea Tree -- anyone use FOR hair growth?

[ Edited ]

@Julie_23 I certainly use Tea Tree for hair growth. It works for me.

It was almost one year ago that I really noticed how my hair was thinning on top, showing wider-than-normal gaps of hair. I really panicked. I listened to TV programs on what to eat/take for that problem and I read many articles on it.

I kept hearing that coconut oil was good for your hair if you apply it 15-30 minutes before washing the hair (I tried that). I read about amma oil, which an article said Indian people use on their hair.

Then Dr. Oz said to have 2 eggs/day because it has biotin and that builds hair. Another doctor on TV said to have at least 1000 units of Vitamin D, a low glycemic diet, no simple carbs, no noodles, sugar, or dairy; and to add fiber, good fats like salmon and avocado. Probably not a bad diet at all, even if you don't have hair problems!

I even went to Walmart and bought Rogaine for women, brought it home, used it a couple of times, and decided "this just isn't for me." For some reason I didn't think I would be willing to do that every day for the rest of my life. I stopped doing it, but hung onto the product in case I changed my mind. Never did; however, I waited too long to return it to the store.

Right about the same time I started seeing a lot of "the gallons are coming, the gallons are coming" type of posts for WEN. I admit I lurked around on the WEN forum for quite sometime, reading what everyone was going to be purchasing and why.

I decided to post about my hair needs and a whole host of people responded, quickly pointing out that the best thing to do for my fine, thin, virtually straight-without-an-ounce-of-curl-in-it hair. Almost everyone recommended Tea Tree and many others said to include Lavender.

One year later, I am proud to say that Tea Tree and Lavender are the SECOND best things to happen to me, because the FIRST best thing to happen to me is this forum of WENderful posters who know their stuff! They are always so helpful and free with their advice. They are the next best thing to hearing directly from Chaz!

My hair has been filling in so it is fuller. It is definitely stronger since using WEN products. The strands feel thicker. I do not see gobs of hair in the sink or in my brush/comb anymore. In fact, I rarely see any hair in those places now, even though I know it is natural for us to lose some hair.

I also use Tea Tree oil on my scalp almost every night of the week.

I believe the Tea Tree has "unplugged" my scalp and has allowed more hair to come thru. Since I wash my hair every day anyway, using the proper WEN product means I'm not doing anything extra in my routine but to use the nourishing WEN. And a side benefit to the added volume is that my hair has never been softer!
