@Chefgal411 I rarely would say to someone that they may want to stop using something from Chaz, but here's why. This is only because of your fine hair. Obviously being AA means we don't have the same type of hair.

However, I also wanted to do the blowdry and was just learning. I watched Anna Lee's video and Chaz's blow dry on AA hair. I started to feel the same sense of something not being right that you had. I started thinking the brush may be a little harsh on my hair because I saw breaking strands. I then found out that since my hair is relaxed, which weakens the strand, I should definitely stop. Sure enough, Chaz only is shown doing a blowdry on natural AA hair.

Which all leads me to think, that if you have fine hair like I do and you start to see stripping or breakage, it may just not be worth it. I hope you find the solution for you whether it be heat protection of stopping using the brush. I got about six of them with kits and used them for Christmas presents at my office. It was a huge hit.

Hi @Kjelle & thank you for your reply. Actually, the breakage/damage I've experienced (I think) is due to my usage of a metal barrel brush with sharp nylon bristles, not Chaz's brush. I'm trying his large round boar bristle brush, hoping to minimize the breakage. I'm sorry they didn't work for you - I'm sure the challenge of blow drying fine hair that's also relaxed is a big one! Good luck! 😉
I also have a follow up question: I bought the brush already, as I couldn't wait for Chaz's visit. I love it! I'm working on the learning curve of suctioning my hair but - all in all - I've found the brush picks up enough hair, is easy to use & the result is great. My hair looks so much smoother & NO FRIZZ! Yay! BUT - my bathroom floor was littered with boar bristles! Yikes! Is this normal? Do I have a defective brush? 😣
If any of you know, please respond! Thank you!
Thanks again, Wen beauties for all the great advice! 😘😘😘😘

Hello @Chefgal411.

I've just sent the following email to Chaz's customer service team. (They're the best!) Will let you know their reply.

Hello Wen helpers!

A fellow Wenner bought a new large boar bristle brush from Chaz and is practicing, learning to use it properly.

But she says her  brush is shedding bristles all over the floor, and wants to know if it's normal for a new brush to have several bristles dropping out?

@Chefgal411 . . . and here is their speedy reply.

If you follow up with them refer to Case #: 73233.

I contacted customerservice@chazdean.com

Thank you for contacting us. It is normal for some of the bristles to shed and it will not effect the brushes' performance. We would be concerned if a whole plug would come out (it would look like the brush had a bald spot) and if it continues shedding far beyond the first few uses. Do you notice any bare spots? If so, could you have her send us a picture? Also, when and where was her boar bristle brush purchased?

Thank you

Thank you so much @x Hedge for reaching out to Chaz's customer service on my behalf! That's why I need my Wen tribe - I had never thought to do that! You're so sweet & I really appreciate it! 💜
So far, no bald spots or missing plugs but it sheds a lot. The sink & floor are covered in bristles & they come out in my hand when I pull the excess hair from the brush. I've only used it twice, so I will keep my fingers crossed that it stops. If not - I will follow up with CS.
Thank you so much again for your help! 😘

You're welcome @Chefgal411.

I've had boar bristle brushes for decades, long before Chaz. It seems they "shed" a lot when new too.
