Hi everyone! I've been MIA from the WEN forum for the past few weeks due to work and school, but I'm on break now. Hurray!
I would like everyone's opinion regarding the boar bristle round brush in the large size. I've used the medium size for years and I really enjoy using it when I blow dry. However, I'm considering ordering the large brush duo today or tomorrow while it is still on easy pay. I've read that the larger brush is better for smoothing long hair and for straight styles. I have long hair, to the middle of my back, with a natural wave. I appreciate all your comments. Thanks!

Def works on longer hair that you want straight. If you love the med ones, you'll live these too.

@CoCo87, good to see you and I'm glad you have some much deserved break time. Unfortunately, I'm wedded to my wenderful Wen comb and haven't used a brush in decades, so I don't have any thing to share.
Enjoy your break!!

the large brush is more of a medium size.
The medium sized brush is a small brush.
I have 2 of each.
I will assume the small is like a mini brush.
To really smooth your hair..unless you are a pro, buy a very large brush at a beauty supply store or online.
Come on...the same models hair looks completely different when they do a make up show that has nothing to do with Wen. Chaz is a natural.
And I don't think all the models use Wen at home and definitely not at QVC. I am really surprised sometimes at the way hair is done for other shows. For the Wen Shows....hair is puuurrrfeeeccttt! LOL!

I haven't tried the large round brush so I can't speak to that. I love the medium round brush, but because my hair is below my shoulders and wavy I have issues with my hand cramping and numbness because it takes so long. Not to mention the fact that it's very difficult for me to reach the back.
On one of the periscopes they were using a large paddle brush on Benn to straighten his curly hair. Basically turn your head upside down and use the paddle brush to blow your hair flat against your scalp.
I tried it and love the results! Because of the large surface area of the paddle brush, and your scalp it cuts down your below drying time significantly. It's all so much easier to dry and straighten the back of your hair. (I got the conair paddle brush from Amz for just six dollars)
I paddle dry most of the way, then use the round brush to finish for volume and curl. It's my current go to method, and I get the same results as if I had used a round brush the entire time without the hand pain
If your hair is thin or straight, you may just do just fine with the large brush. Just thought I would mention it as an option, if you've never tried it.

I appreciate everyone's opinion!! I think I will take the plunge and order the brushes.
@Brwdygrl, thanks for sharing your blow dry process. I currently follow a similar process with the medium round brush and a paddle brush. However, I want to see if my hair benefits are any different with the larger size. Thanks!

@CoCo87 and @Brdwygurl, below are some threads from Wen 101 (page 2, message #17) discussing brushes for Wen. Hopefully, these threads are still fully intact and the June 15th forum revamp hasn't sliced and diced these posts away:
--
Brush (made for Wen) -- Got myself a new Wen brush -- Thoughts in the WEN brushes?? -- I wish Chaz would make a regular shaped brush ---- Question about Chaz Dean Video
--
I remember that in one of these thread there was a photo of the type of paddle brush that Chaz uses in his salon... Spoletto (sp?) maybe. -- I don't know much more because I'm a wenderful Wen Comb girl.

Trying to get a picture of how to do this w/a paddle brush upsde down. Do you section off hair and just do it while your head is upside down?....or you run the brush (keep brushing) through it as you dry it upside down?

Thanks for the additional links bebe!
I need to make a WEN confession. In all my years of WEN use, I had never used the comb until Saturday night. I'd been reading so many posts raving about the comb that I decided to try it in the shower (I had previously been using another detangling comb). It was absolutely amazing!!!!! I can't believe how much easier the WEN rinsed out. I can't believe how much better my hair seemed to receive my leave in products. I was shocked! I currently have 1 comb and should receive another comb in my WWC OTO shipment. This may be blasphemous, but I'm almost positive I've thrown a WEN comb away in the past. I feel so ashamed for doing that.
