If you have not tried Chaz's "overnight bun trick" it is worth it!

I have long wavy hair.  I have seen Chaz talk about dampening your hair with RTM, then putting it up in a bun secured with a scrunchie overnight and then letting your hair down.  I had not tried it till recently, and I LOVE the results.

It looks like someone took a curling iron to my hair.  BEAUTIFUL curls.  I like to spray a little RTM in it when I let my hair down and finger style the curls.

I am going to try this on my 10yo daughter's hair tonight.  She has hair down past the middle of her back that is straight with layers we are trying to grow out.  I can not wait to see how her hair turns out!

I have also done this during the day when I am home for a few hours, I still get curls, just not as many or as tight as when I leave it for 8 hours or so.

That sounds so pretty! My hair isn't that long, but sometimes I will put it in a twisty bun while it dries which is a fun look.

I had done it with wet hair from the shower before, but never thought of doing something like this with dry hair for the next day. I normally cleanse my hair every day, but this does allow me to have second day hair every now and then!

You may want to check out the NaturallyCurly.com website. I read about this trick there many years ago. The ladies there like to call in Pineappling, because they do a loose bun or pony on top and it looks like the leaves of a pineapple on your head. They have lots and lots of tricks and tips for wavy and curly girls and I've learned more about curly hair on that site than any other.

When you put your hair in a bun with a scrunchy, do you use pins to hold your hair under.  I have shoulder length hair, and I'm not sure what to do after I get my hair in the scrunchy!!

I have hair down to my tail bone and no I do not use pins. The scrunchy holds it in place.

I do this or the sockbun method. They give AMAZING curls without damaging heat from a curling iron or beachwaver.

I used to do that (both on damp hair as well as dry hair) all during the years I had very long hair - high school, college, and some years beyond.  I'm now just a couple of years shy of 70, so this idea has been around "forever."

I'm glad it's still around!

@Mom2Ro, thanks so much for your positive review of this trick. I'm growing my hair out and may try it when it gets longer. Smiley Happy

You are welcome @bebe777, I love doing it!  I used to cleanse every day, but now I am so busy I don't always get to!
